ha! no wonder you guys were saying they are over-hyped over there… that’s the silliest thing i’ve ever heard… great album: yes … best rock album in 10 years: not even close!

Isn’t Rival Schools the one with CIV(ex?)-members? CIV rocks. ‘Schools sounds good anyway.

Anyway, my musical interests include of course Therapy?, The Rolling Stones (until early 70’s), The Doors, Captain Beefheart & His Magic Band (or The Magic Band after “Trout Mask Replica”)(check T?’s “Totally Random Man” lyrics), Sex Pistols, Joy Division, Soundgarden, Nirvana, The Smashing Pumpkins, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Oasis, Bad Religion, Pennywise, Moby, Photek, The Chemical Brothers, Blur, Manic Street Preachers, Hole, Bangles, Red Aunts, Björk, Air, Massive Attack, Eminem, OutKast and a load of Finnish bands such as Apulanta and Don Johnson Big Band.

My recent discoveries are Mother Love Bone (hair metal with a twist)and Mike Ness (Social Distortion -frontman goes country).

Oh, and I guess I have to mention my secret perversion of collecting albums from young female vocalists, such as Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson and bands like M2M, SOAP and Drömhus. Their older albums are amazingly cheap, most people would say for a reason. The gem of my collection is “Girl on the Run” by Victoria Silvstedt (if the name doesn’t ring a bell, check http://www.playboy.com/playmates/directory/199612.html) which probably has the most intelligent lyrics ever. Unintended humor at its best.

Argentinian tango music set to chill-out beats. Live musicians, huge (and very sexy) projections, a fine gig. They’re touring the UK at the moment and I can recommend this highly if Massive attack et al are your thing.
