I foolishly shelled out for the Wrestlemania & Royal Rumble dvd box-sets recently, as I’ve fond memories of WWF from when I was about 10. However, after discovering that the fuckers had replaced Demolitions’ entrance music, I sat dismayed. I’ve only watched the first 5 Wrestlemanias and not even taken the wrapping off the others! Royal Rumble remains unopened!

Anyhoo, I haven’t watched WWE since the early 90’s… but I do enjoy reading up on all the crazy shit that goes on behind the scenes - it’s almost as if the staged stuff we see on screen is only a cover for the real-life soap opera that goes on in the wrestling business.
Dino Bravo blown-away by the mafia, Benoit’s well documented murder/suicide, Owen Harts death plunge plus the countless deaths from heart failure owing to massive and widespread steroid use, and suicides due to lonliness on the road and/or various debilitating injuries and drug addictions. Crazy shit, you’d really want to be mad to get into the wrestling game.

Jeff’s title reign is a show of faith in the guy - he’s got such great charisma, he really hooks the audience in. Mainly because he’s a total loon. If he screws it all up again, they will not hesitate to bin him, and I suspect the top brass might be secretly hoping he does screw it in a way so as to be able to send a VERY loud message to the rest of the roster.

CM Punk is great - I first caught hold of him when he came to New ECW and thought his ring work was amazing - innovative, different and intense - a lot like early RVD. I’m a huge fan - I woiuld love to see what he could do as a Heel - but then I’d love to see Cena as a heel too, but that’s literally NEVER going to hapen. The De-Push is to cool the heat on him a little bit I think, he’ll be top of the mid card for a couple of years before he lauches skyward for a proper title reign. Remember Randy “youngest ever heavyweight champion” Orton?

Whatever goes down will be off the page - it’s the 25th anniversary so expect fireworks. I heard Jeff V Christian for a start if Christian comes back from TNA. Cena/Orton will be a big match on Raw.

I can see The Undertaker in a big match too - possibly some ridiculous stacked odds - it’s in Houston right? Hometown boy, winning streak, big stakes match - triple threat? Taker loses he retires? Taker wins gets title maybe? Edge? HHH? Just a thought.

Perhaps MVP gets back on his winning streak at MITB? Remember Punk had a bad losing streak just after winning MITB to build the shock approach for when he cashed in. Maybe MVP wins MITB, then cashes in on Taker after he wins against the odds in a ridiculous match - Taker wins again?

How ace would that be.

And yes, WWE are gits when it comes to licensing. Rick Derringer isn’t a greedy man, surely? Pay him for the Demolition theme? Nah. Wankers! I still thought the box sets were quality, mind.

I used to love wrestling for years , I got rid of sky tv for awhile and then I lost interest, I’m slowly getting back into it but it’s nowhere near as good as what it used to be, I still can’t believe John Cena is the number one guy on it , I can’t stand him. Chris Jericho as a heel is quality , JBL is great aswell. I find most of smackdown really boring , only Triple H , Edge and The Undertaker keep it interesting.

I’ve always hated it when people say “It’s Fake” Yes of course we all know it is, but so is Eastenders and pretty much anything else on t.v , even the so called reality programs are still fake, It’s entertainment , its not claiming to be real. I do still find people falling of ladders etc. to be impressive , I for one couldn’t jump off a ladder and not be hurt.

Yeah there are a few of these around at the moment, one involves a long story about Undertaker Vs Shawn Michaels for Wrestlemania 25, but it seems more fantsay booking. I tend not to believe it unless its on 411wrestling.
