Where were ya workin?
My place has been put into administration (USC), although my job is safe. Unfortunately for them, a lot of their part time staff are stupidly lazy, bitchy, two faced, and just general cunts. One of the managers calls me “Crazy Colin” or “Crazy Cunt”, although, in fairness I do call him Retarded Rab.
I’m secretly out looking for a new job, one of the sound managers has said I can put his name down for a reference, so will be out tomorrow AM with a shit-load of CV’s!
AGSG, I’ve said it before to other people - bar work. Very high turnover of staff, it’s really good fun, pay’s alright, and if yer goin in full time you’ll get a few day shifts, which means you’ll miss the shitty, busy nightshifts.
Also, print out a load of CVs and just hand them out. I went through 98 or something before I even got a phone call back.

Well, I’ve lost out at HSBC (I work behind the scenes for em, not at a branch) and they had to cut back on people working, that, and I had to go for a interview for the job I had in order to keep the job I had. And was told I failed it?!? Didn’t matter what I’ve worked for a whole year it was what was said in a 20min interview, that summed me up, which made no sense - I was pissed!!! On top of this… a month before I had to have this cack interview I was sent a email from work promising me an extended contracted to mid ‘09. To me this is evidence of being jipped! So I’ve reported that at work and I’m awaiting the outcome.
Cheers Colz! But I think I’m gonna head into the same field of admin related work. If I can get it! Signed up to an agency so fingers crossed.
Its scary cuz when you loose a job like that you think shit… no home, no holiday, no money etc.
I just hope someone pulls something out their ass and soon! Grr! :(

@AGSG - The agency is a good idea. I felt a bit cheesy and weird signing up after I was made redundant, but it was the best move I could have made - i’d recommend it to anybody. Bes of luck!

I have heard some people say they feel like getting housing Benefit is stealing off hard working people but the way I see it - I dont feel any qualms getting free money to have a roof over my head.

But whoever makes the playlists for Centra Supermarkets here in Ireland needs to be crucified. Who are they trying to attract, the 12-13 year old female demographic? Christ.

I feel your pain…I worked in Dunnes for a year when I was in college…I found out that it’s very hard to slit your wrists with receipts!

Ugh. I worked retail for years, and I never understood why they compiled such shit PA playlists. Isn’t the goal of retail to attract — not repel — customers? I’d always imagine there was some tone deaf troll holed up in his Shrek Cave surrounded by tweener CD’s looking to discover all ways of new aural torture.

USC, where I’m at now, not so great. In fact, shit. Cheesey dance, crap pop, shitty ‘rock’, we had an xmas playlist on the run up to Christmas, and I heard Band Aid’s “Do they know it’s Christmas” song SIX times in the space of four hours.
And not once did I hear Happy Crimbo by Avid Merrion. Gutted I was
