it was new years eve, the pub was open till 8 then we thought it was chucking out time, but they said the downstairs bar is open till tonight, its a pub but its classed as a hotel.

and they kept asking people who looked young if they wanted a sip of their drinks, and when i said are you an undercover cop, he said if i was do you think i’d tell you and winked.

sting and the police (boom boom) would be much more bothered about drink driving than trying to get someone to forcibly buy a bag of charlie off them if they were policemen at 8am. i do not doubt your time lines gimme. but it sounds more like a real drug dealer than anything to me.

well one of them kept mentioning the name of my local police force and shit, and kept asking me if i was on drugs, and why would tkey keep asking me to sip their drink or if i want one?

My place has been put into administration (USC), although my job is safe. Unfortunately for them, a lot of their part time staff are stupidly lazy, bitchy, two faced, and just general cunts. One of the managers calls me “Crazy Colin” or “Crazy Cunt”, although, in fairness I do call him Retarded Rab.
I’m secretly out looking for a new job, one of the sound managers has said I can put his name down for a reference, so will be out tomorrow AM with a shit-load of CV’s!

AGSG, I’ve said it before to other people - bar work. Very high turnover of staff, it’s really good fun, pay’s alright, and if yer goin in full time you’ll get a few day shifts, which means you’ll miss the shitty, busy nightshifts.
Also, print out a load of CVs and just hand them out. I went through 98 or something before I even got a phone call back.

@AGSG - The agency is a good idea. I felt a bit cheesy and weird signing up after I was made redundant, but it was the best move I could have made - i’d recommend it to anybody. Bes of luck!

Ugh. I worked retail for years, and I never understood why they compiled such shit PA playlists. Isn’t the goal of retail to attract — not repel — customers? I’d always imagine there was some tone deaf troll holed up in his Shrek Cave surrounded by tweener CD’s looking to discover all ways of new aural torture.

I shiver at the thought of hearing “Do they know…” ever again. It wasn’t even that big a hit in the States but still every year…over and over! And those supposedly hip, alt-rock versions of Xmas standards!!!
