Vinyl to mp3

Need a bit of help here:

Does any of you fellow WOMbles own one of these USB record players? Or how do you convert your LPs and 7” to CD/mp3?

I guess there is a lot of crap out there qualitywise, but any tips would be greatly appreciated. Oh, and none of that PC/Windows stuff please - I’am MacMan.

TA!

I have a cable that goes from the headphones socket of my stereo to the line-in socket on my computer and I use Audacity to record the files. Cheaper than a USB deck ;)

Not much help probably, but I use a “stand-alone” cdr recorder. With that I connect to my stereo (along with the record player), and it’s a simple job of playing the vinyl and hitting record on the recorder.

Don’t bother!

If you have the LP’s, 7”s, 12”s, etc… just get online and download them. Chances are you’ll find them easy enough.

Just search - band release rapidshare and you should come across it quick enough.
If it’s metal just log onto “www.bunalti.com” or “wwwmetal-forever.com”
