Ooooo Cathedral, forgot to mention Cathedral. I used to write for a fanzine and got given all the tickets to the ‘noisey’ gigs for reviews so in fairness I have seen some shit but Cathedral take the biscuit. Ended up at the Cathedral gig when, believe it or not, the editor was on a jolly in Bristol seeing Therapy, the cunt. God Cathedral were bollocks. Utter, utter wank. Total turgid piss with dogturd topping. I’m depressed now remembering that. Fuck.

I forgot about Guns n Roses.

Saw them on their “Get In The Ring Motherfucker”-Tour back in ‘91 in Mannheim/West Germany.

So, sooooo bad. Out of tune - technical difficulties (so they said) - played a couple of songs and fucked off stage again - came back hours later - played a boring set. OpenAir gigs, my arse!

And the best part?

No fucking alcohol was served, the organisers were afraid of VIOLENCE… What you get when 10s of thousands of metal fans turn up for a gig only to find out there is no alcohol…

Reading festival 2001, only thing they said the whole gig was, “Oh come on we practiced that one for ages”

I was at that gig! I really like Eels, but you’re right, it was crap.

But the worst band I’ve seen live was Primal Scream in 2005 - the sound and Bobby Gillespie’s attitude were both awful.

Yeah, it’s worse when the singer is taking the piss out of the audience thwn when the band play badly I think. I can’t think of any offhand but I’ve been to a few gigs where that’s happened.

I saw primal scream one year at leeds and they were great - but I’ve seen a clip of them doing a show somewhere and they looked fucking awful - Bobby Gillespie was so off his tits he was barely coherent

wheatus…after getting a free ticket and plyed with alcohol i went to see them with MC LArs..

played an atrocious set…the singer snapped a string..had no spare guitar..and took 20+ minutes to change said snapped string..
so me and my drunken friends proceeded to sing teenage dirtbag throughtout everysong..
start a rousing chant of you owe me £2.50..(it was a 4 band show..and the tickets were £10..so glad i didn’t pay)
and start a pit circle..quite a firey one during a little respect.
hehe that’ll teach them

I saw wheatus supporting mc lars on that tour (was there for lars) and considering it was whatus they wernt too bad, nice bit of nostalgia, they diddnt have a set list and instead asked the crowd between each song what they wanted to hear I got the first request in for ‘leroy’ (when i was like 10 I loved that single) the people behind me kept chanting ‘punk ass bitches’ I thought they were insulting the band until the singer said ‘we cant play that one cus the guy who wrote it got fired from the band’. nothing spectacular, but a bit of fun as a support band. and hearing the whole room singing teenage dirtbag (even though i hate that song) it was hard nott o get swept up in it all.

Some shitehawk indie bands that were playing on the same bill as Graham’s band Boss Volenti: THE CORONAS and JUNO FALLS.

I never thought it would be possible to be physically bored to tears, but these we so dreadful I wanted to weep openly. God, indie-poppers are retards.

Saw Soundgarden on the Down on the Upside tour. Pretty bad, not awful, but they just seemed disinterested.
Ice Cube at Sunstroke ‘94. Awful and hilarious at the same time. Thankfully, Therapy? were up next and were brilliant, even being joined onstage by Page Hamilton.

I used to like Placebo when they first came out but after seeing them twice at festivals i realised that they were shit and really couldn’t play. I have been told by many other people how good they are but i have yet to see it and haven’t bothered to check out any of their albums since the first one because of the disappointment. Deftones at wembley a few years back was painful as the sound was terrible and even though i like them they were soooo dull, all the songs became one and no change in pace in tempo of songs didn’t help that.

There are more but these two are the ones i can remember right this minute.
