that would be “copy 10 cds off my best mates sister…”
I wasn’t exclusively listening to recordings of my mates older sibling!

Best thing about the internet when it comes to music and the like is that now you can listen to what you like, when you like.
I can only be so sad to recall the times of waiting for the cack on POWER.FM to get moving to get to a song that I did truly like!
… and I know that I’m not the only one who used to listen to that station! :(
But I was there… be it with Woolworths or the fab TDK cassettes! I remember me and mates designing tape covers at school back then lol!
Death to the radio I say! :D

Yeah - we all did the tape thing at school! and if you didn’t you were either rich or there was something wrong with you.
my first copy of troublegum was on a memorex 90 minute. I bet my mate still has the tdk of Infernal love somewhere with my ‘artistic’ biro-pen recreation of the cover…
The fact that we are both massive fans over 15 years later, having spend countless pounds on cds, singles, t-shirts, gig tickets etc… If it wasn’t for taping I wouldn’t be on this board writing this crap.
Sure it doesn’t work out for all bands - but chances are - they were never that fucking good then :)

My first Therapy? album was on a TDK tape!
It was ‘Semi-Detached’, and I got it for Christmas.
Having my mate sing “Merry Christmas Everyone” at the end of “The Boy’s Asleep” was abit disturbing!
lol :)

I have vague memories of taping, in fact between the age of 9 and 11 everyone in school would buy a cd each every now and then then we’d all tape each others cds, it wasnt organized or anything it just happened. then by the age of 12/13 the few people lucky enough to have internet would download a few songs and put together compilation cds for everyone. I miss the sharing aspect of music (as my tastes are completly different to most people I know nowadays) but times change I guess, and it was shit music we all shared like wrestling theme songs and bowling 4 soup.

They were carefree days my friend :) I remember when my biggest worry was if the new Terrorvision record would fit on one side of a 90 minute tape, and if so - what the fuck can I fit on the other side :D

Yeah I was lucky that if I could edit it right… Silverchair’s Frogstop would fit all on Side A.
Used to piss me off that a album would finish with just 2 songs on Side B with tons of blank space. That then was filled with me and buddies recording our voices in high-speed dubbing hahaha!!!!

Remember when they introduced those walkmans that would play the other side of the tape without making you take the tape out and flip it over? That was the scheez back then :p

Yeah - although it messed with your head - because if you pressed the button rewind would then fast forward and vice versa

Yeah I know! But at least knowing Play/Fast-Forward meant silly high-speed dubbing!
But like you said before Gav… it drains the ‘ol Ever-Ready :(

That’s just bullshit! I wonder what your reaction would be if people would steal your work, and causing you a financial loss! Why do people always pretent they’re somebody else’s accountant? There’s a lot of smaller bands who are struggeling to survive, I wouldn’t be surpriced Therapy? isn’t far from that point!
i was talking about limewire - it was full of pop and commercial top ten shite
im with dave grohl on this
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OVOPvxOM0yE
you wouldnt find smaller bands on limewire - that was my point and why i buy cds from bands like this to support them
