Thanks for the link A_S. The name rang a bell but I couldn’t think why. Then I read that he’d worked with Duke Special. I’m a big fan of his. This isn’t bad, but the guy’s voice kinda grates on me a little bit :S

I must admit, I was kinda curious about the Divers and Fyfe’s other projects. Is it any good? He’s a hard man to keep track of.

It’s slang, it means “no way fella”.

Only joking. I would hazard a guess that he meant check your private messages ;)

I had this drum break of “Teethgrinder” triggering my google for news about Fyfe Ewing once again.

He has really played drums with Robyn G Shiels and the album “Blood of the Innocents” should be released on No Dancing Records by now.

Fyfe might be around during the Beachdown Festival (Aug 28-31) in Brighton, especially at the Concorde 2 for the Brighton band stage, who knows…

There are some new tracks up on Robyn G Shiels myspace. From what I can assertain, Fyfe plays drums/percussion on:
“This Deathly Charm”
“If Now Is An Echo”
“How Foolish Was I”
“Hello Death”
It’s singer/songwriter stuff, so a million miles away from his usual playing. Still no sign of that album being released though.

I’ve seen Robyn G Shiels support Malcolm Middleton (from Arab Strap) before, talented but not my kind of thing tbh.

It’s strange tho, there’s a newsagent that was (is?) round the back of the Ulster Hall that I’ve seen Robyn G Shiels and other scenesters work / hang out in, inlcuding Michael McK… that would imply that channels of communication are not completely closed between Fyfe and the band (albeit indirectly)

Daimond Dave told me at the Belgian Gig that Fyfe is still a part of T?..

And since Fyfe is still an active drummer, i’m still hoping that while Neil takes his brake,
Fyfe will appear on the 2010 tour. Damn i wish that could happen :D

Bur realistically.. this sounds more like a daydream.

Sigh… Fyfe is still alive. One easilly recognises Fyfe’s drum play. Once I had found a quite recent picture of him whilst he was quietly drinking something in a pub.

Well on the Mechelen gig Andy talked a bit about Neil Taking a break to i think make a drumdvd orso..
Problem was we understood the break part but what Andy said than isn’t 100% clear cause the crowd was loud :D

I think Neil is a deadly drummer and has given the band a new lease of life. As much as I think that Fyfe is an awesome drummer, he did decide to bail after all so maybe we should all give it a rest?

Bit disrespectful to Mr. Cooper…
