That sounds like a plan. if everyone else around me is over 18 they wont check me and assume I am. And if I buy a ticket i doubt they’d turn me away.

Don’t worry Grant , I’ll easily pass off as your old man accompanying you.

You should be OK as long as you are not totally wasted and drawing attention to yourself.

Security staff can be pricks though…

Would have wished that they would play either Ambassador or Vicar St. to be honest. Just happy we have a date this time :)

Ambassador isn’t used for gigs anymore.
Vicar St would have been class alright, but it seems that using The Academy & playing Oxegen has them in bed with MCD, whereas Vicar St is owned by Aiken Promotions.

I’ve been to The Academy quite alot (its open longer than 3wks prior to Soulfly) & they do have a habit of turning the sound down for the support. The ‘dancefloor’ makes for a nice sized pit & the perimeter is raised to be level with the height of the stage. Great view.

Note, the bar will be a joke on the night !! Hopefully they are smart enough to keep the bar in the basement bar open too.

That’s what I liked about the ambassador - no probs at all getting a beer in, you didn’t even have to leave the stage area.

All the bars will be open - it’s a Friday night, I actually quite like the venue - you can get a drink without leaving the stage area there too… 5 mins from my place too!

@Mully: Bar’s were good on the night as for the whole 3 weeks thing mean’s I shouldn’t trust drunk locals(from Cabra) but before I bought a ticket I’d never heard of the place

Therapy? will make my perception of the place a whole lot better

Good to hear the bar system works.
I’m guilty of being from a drunk from Cabra, so I’ll let this slide, just the once ;)

Hmm, Tickets not available = Sold out ?

aaah the temptation of spending the money on this…one step beyond I think we´ll be there too..friday night in Dublin wouldn´t be that bad and so much people from the board entering..the flights just doesn´t seem to fit us, guess there will be one night sleeping at the Stansted airport again waiting for the Ryanair flight to Dublin next morning, aaah just luv sleeping on the nice floors of Stansted;)

We´ll be there too, cannot back now as flights are booked and a hotel for one night. The Motörhead support slot back in 2006 Dublin was great but this is going to be super: their own headline gig on their homeground! just cannot wait!

There are car parks in Cathal Bruagh St. and Fleet St. that are both about 5-10 minutes walk to the venue.

I believe so, but can’t be sure. My mate parked in the Cathal Bruagh St. one for a Matallica gig in the Point, which is quite a walk, and had no problems getting his car out.

Alternatively there is a big car park at the luas stop at the Red Cow roundabout on the M50. Park there ( think its 3 euro for a night ) and take the luas in , it stops almost in front of the door.
