So far have only heard “The Head…” and “Enjoy the Struggle” and am more excited about T? than I have been since I first heard them.

Love the new look website too! Since I’m in the US, I’m going to order it from Amazon.uk - can’t wait to get my filthy hands on it.

I don’t think I have ever been this happy in my entire life! (this includes marriage, birth of children, grandchild, retirement from the Army and discovering Viagra…)

Would LOVE to see T? on a US tour! Word of mouth only gets so far. I hope the label does some serious promotion. There is no reason at all that T? can’t kick some ass here with the right support.

I LOVE this album!

Definitely a contender for best thing they have ever done.

All the very best elements of Therapy? are here - Andy is on top form, Mikehell is bass-fuckin-tastic and Neil Cooper plays yet another blinder.

One very happy WoMble here.

Cheers Andy, Michael and Neil - cracking stuff!

I still haven’t recieved a copy, I initially ordered from amazon and then decided to cancel and go with play.com and have just cancelled. I’ve looked back on amazon and it’s saying posted within 1-3 weeks? A brand new album officially released today takes at least 1 week to be sent and could be upto 3 weeks.

As I can’t really get to my town in the next few days, what is the best place to order from? Has anyone who ordered from hmv recieved got it yet?

As far as the album goes… wow. It is a classic, I can’t bring myself to listen to any of the songs other than listeneing to the full album, it’s just so good. I know it’s been done by a few bands the last few years but I honestly think they should play the new album in it’s entiretiy live it’s that good. Once again T? show how diverse they are and that they are not afraid to challenge themselves. This album is right up there with the best of them, not a weak track on the album imo, I usually cringe at the thought of any instrumental let alone a 10 minute one but alas this instrumetal just fits so well , it sounds as if it was just an inital jam and then turned out so good that they thought to leave it there cause it was so good.

Well done T? another great album for they’re history, and this one is right up there as one of the best they’ve done. Excellent album.

FYI. For you Yanks, if you don’t mind downloads, or can’t wait for an import to be delivered, the album is available now on both iTunes and Amazon.
My physical copy won’t be delivered for a bit, and I couldn’t wait so I got the download off Amazon.

listening to it now…silly! THICK sound, nice mix! It thumps and everyone fits in nicely…! Can’t wait to get it in my car!

Okay…I’ve given it a few listens now…here’s my impressions.
Right off…Great Album!!! To me it remenicient of NANE…but they tones down the noisey/punky elements and replaced it with Kyuss flavored heavy grooves…which is a really cool sound! Mikehell and Super Cooper are on top of their game throughout…and the mix really brings it out!
This is an album very much driven by the rhythm section. Andy’s guitar is more of a compliment versus the primary driver.
But where he stepped back with the guitar Andy really stepped up vocally. Less shouting, more singing…best he’s sounded since Semi-Detatched!

I wouldn’t say melodies are pushed to the back…but they are less forced. There’s no big choruses here, but that’s not to say the album is without hooks.
This a great change of pace after OCFA! Again reminiscient of other stuff (NANE & OCFA and SP-YF), but still it’s own animal.

Track by track
01: The Head that Tried… have to admit this is the weak sister in my mind…not the best opener. Cool track but not the greatest.
02: Enjoy the Struggle… let the grooves begin! very Kyuss sounding…love it! This is song where Andy would have done one of his Tom Waits impressions, but here he just belts it out with venom (thank God!), but not over the top…love it!
03:Clowns Galore.. starts of with some interesting harmoncs play…but at around the 35 second mark, the boys unleash one of the sickest grooves ever!
04: Exiles… BASS! Mikehell must have had a ball making this album! Cool Mid-80s alternative sounding chorus…great track!
05: Crooked Timber…Lyrical melodies reminiescent of Our White Noise, but less guitar oriented..this is all Mikehell & Super Cooper with Andy showing he can still cary a tune.
06: I Told You I was Ill… got a bit of a Long Distance mixed with Unconsoled sound here…great stuff
07: Somnambulist… most OCFA of all the tracks, most pronounced chorus, but not a 4 word chanter..
08: Blacken the Page… very NANE, quick noisy hitter!
09: Magic Mountain.. a 10 minute instrumental…this sounds like it belongs on a mid-80s John Hughes film soundtrack. Definite Cure vibe in there. Reminds me a bit of some of the Series 7-soundtrack that Girls Against Boys did. Would have liked this better as a b-side, but it’s defeinitely something you could throw on in the background while working and enjoy.
10: Bad Excuse for Daylight…Black Sabbath anyone? very Electric Funeral-ish beginning. Vocally it’s pretty interesting. The verses Andy sings in a kind of worn out, defeated tone, but then in the chorus he brings in some melody. Very sludgy pacing, cool track, not sure it was best choice for closer.

Okay…with all that said…excellent album! Definite step forward from One Cure Fits All.
Not every track is a classic, but there’s several tracks that are now going to be a permanent parts of my T? rotation, Enjoy the Struggle, Clowns Galore, Exiles, Crooked Timber and I Told You I was Ill.

WELL DONE LADS!!!

the only song i didn’t like initially was magic mountain - i’m not used to purely instrumental tracks epically not 10 minute ones - but it’s grown on me since and it makes perfect sense on the album.

Ah, but this isn’t about which scene you are into - it’s about publicity, communication. I wouldn’t fit into skinny jeans even if I wanted to, but I still scan nme.com/news just in case there’s something interesting I might otherwise miss out on. I’m sure it has a high readership and every time one of those many, many people who bought into Troublegum and/or Infernal Love reads it, there’s a missed opportunity to drag someone back into the fold… as there is of getting someone new who thinks, “that’s a new name to me - I’ll check out myspace or youtube” (lack of capitalisation is intentional, lolz [sigh]). That’s pretty much what I do with K! nowadays. Every now and then I find a gem…

As an aside, I keep scanning eFestivals (have done for years) just to see if T? are going to be added to the rumours section for Reading Festival, but no luck recently (relative term)…

FNYANKEZ,

Thanks for the tip buddy. I just found it on Napster. I am assuming the band gets paid if they have an agreement with Napster, but this will do until I get the CD. Can’t leave any of them out of the collection.
Side question - does anyone know where I can buy a CD that has Evil Elvis on it? I know it was on the Webgig, but was in Afghanistan when it was available, so I missed out.

Love that song.

Really enjoying Crooked Timber so far. What a great band!

I think you could look for the Die Laughing single at ebay or so. There on is a studio recording of that song.
