A strat with only 1 pickup? A little odd, I think. The only other person I know who plays a strat with 1 bridge pickup is the guitarist from Blink-182. Anyways, what color is the body? I’m sure you’ll want something like a Gemil on your pickguard. I have a set of T? stickers that I’ve been meaning to put on my strat for some time now. Other than that, my mind is drawing a blank. I don’t get too into decorating my guitars, though I do have a nice decal I’d like to put on my hollow-body Epi.

It did have 3 pickups but I got bored and took it apart - long story short I ripped out two (for the record I quite detest Blink - and Groop Dogdrill also use a strat with one pickup). Its black w/white scratch but that can change.
I was thinking - black everything with a huge grey gemil and 5 or 6 little red ironys (the infernal love thing with the ?? - I think thats what its called) in the background - what do you think??

I hope you’re not thinking about painting the guitar yourself! I really wish I had my strat sitting next to me so I could take a look at it and visualize what you’re doing. I think I just prefer being a bit more subtle, so I wouldn’t do much more than a Gemil on the pickguard. But then again, I wouldn’t rip a pair of single coils out of my strat either. I seem to remember reading an article a few years ago where Andy decorated a cheap guitar for someone the band was on tour with. He went with kind of an Aztec-type design, with a Gemil hidden in it as well.

I am actually. Brendon, you wouldn’t happen to know where to get a pic of that guitar - could help.

Well, be careful with the paint job. Believe it or not, you can actually do some altering of your guitar’s sound with a poor paint job. Personally, I’m the least handy person on the planet. I couldn’t make a gumball machine in 7th grade shop class, thus I would never paint my guitar myself, even though I’d really like to.

I’ve never seen a picture of that guitar Andy did. I’ll do a bit of digging through the archives and see if I can at least come up with the article for you.
