Free bootleg downloads for all

#

Started by Gill Rockatansky (The Music That Nobody Likes)

Hey everyone. Just wanted to let you know trhat I’ve started a website with free bootleg downloads on it.

The T? show from Sound City ‘94 is already up, that’s the Tramway Glasgow one from Radio 1. There is also some Carter USM, PWEI and Cure if anyone wants it.

Anyway, what I’m looking for is more bootlegs, mainly 90’s indie/alternative stuff, to add to the site so that even more people can get their hands on them.

If anyone wants to contribute anything then that would be great, the internet should mean that most non-commercial bootlegs are free IMO.

So here is the address, please feel free to drop by, download what you want, join the forum etc.. I’m hoping to be making regular uploads.

http://www.themusicthatnobodylikes.tk <—a Carter USM reference before anyone takes undue offence.

Why bother with eBay when some kind hearted person could just as easily make the boot available as a 320k mp3, FLAC or WAV download? :-)

Thanks. I know there are a lot of T? bootlegs about and a lot of people who would love to hear them, myself included.

I can see the point in traders, but I don’t think it’s something that everyone is able to do. So this seemed like a viable alternative.

I’m in the process of converting a whole load of boots from tape to FLAC for someone off the Carter board and it just seemed selfish to keep them to ourselves, the rest just sort of grew from there.

Thanks a lot, once I get that video I’ll stick it on Megaupload so that people can get it all at once without Rapidshare’s download limit kicking in.

That reminds me, I also have the first Amsterdam Paradiso show that I ripped from Fabchannel, I think some of you may have managed to download copies of it from me ages ago when I was on these boards as always_drunk.

The paradiso video is pretty funny, thanks for sharing it back then, I never witnessed a certain band member that wasted on stage myself ;-)
It’s sad that fabchannel had to close down though, here’s the reasons http://www.fabchannel.com/ in case anybody cares.

I’ve recently added some downloads by Nirvana, Jane’s Addiction, Senseless Things, Butthole Surfers and Blur if anyone’s interested.

I’m going to improve the Paradiso video a little bit, and increase the rather quiet audio to a decent volume. The set list for the gig is…

My Voodoo Doll
Die Laughing
Straight Life
Turn
Rust
If It Kills Me
A Moment Of Clarity
Sister
Who Knows
Hey Satan, You Rock
Church Of Noise
I Am The Money
Dancin’ With Manson
Nobody Here But Us
Knives
Screamager
Potato Junkie
Stop It You’re Killing Me
Nowhere
Diane
Isolation/She’s Lost Control
Teethgrinder

And as I’ve said before, anyone with good T? bootlegs that they’re willing to share is more than welcome to get in touch. Gonna keep my fingers crossed for that to happen, past experiences of traders has been similar to the Gollum/Bilbo meeting in The Hobbit. ;)

Thanks Glen, but I know the forum you mean - I got the boot of the only Nirvana show I ever saw from there, Glasgow QMU.

Afraid I don’t have the “tribute” concert, but I really am hoping that some of the WoM traders will put such things forward for everyone to enjoy.

Anyone fancy a superb Mr Bungle bootleg video being upped after Paradiso? It’s from the Bizarre festival in Germany.

Re: The National. I’m gonna try to stick to 90’s alt bands for now, but I’ll download it for my own pleasure. :)

Gonna have some Pixies and other stuff coming up soon, so keep your eyes peeled or follow me on Twitter for updates. The link is on the site.

Lol, probably. I know that Duncan Gray is quite annoyed that it was a bit before his time with CPL that that show took place. He tried to book them a couple of years ago to play the Academy, while they were over here to do Leeds and Reading. Their agent was a bit of a tit and just said no without asking about any offers or options.

They probably said no straight away because the Academy is 1/5 the number of people they played to last time they were here.

I’ve just added a Breeders bootleg to the site, and I’m doing some work on the Paradiso video. Never realised how low quality the Fabchannel streams were, currently showing as 56k.

Just spent an hour learning how to edit video stuff in VirtualDub, seems quite a good wee program. Anyway, I’ve sorted out the audio problems, removed a bit of hiss and boosted the overall volume of the Fabchannel stream. I’ve also sharpened up the video, so it’s not as hazy as it was, and ever so slightly adjusted the colours. Anyone who got the original wmv file off me ages ago will probably want to download this newer version instead. The file is encoding to avi now, hopefully going to have this uploaded to the site either tonight or tomorrow morning. With any luck it’ll be under 500mb, though it is a 96 minute show.

Sounds good to me, I’ll grab that one again :-)

I would be willing to share a couple of high quality shows I collected over the years from various sources and some people might not have yet.
These are the one that spring to my mind:

Florence, 1994 (soundboard, I think this is aka Shock Treatment)
Brussels, 2004 (radio broadcast, including Animal Bones)
RTE Radio Session, 1990 (tracks: 1. Reality Fuck (early Die laughing), 2. Innocent X, 3. Dancin with Manson, 4. Body O.D. (early Stop it…), 5. Mind, Body & Soul (unreleased)

If you’re interested: how are they added to your site, as the 3 shows are 500mb in total?

I didn’t want to create a new thread for this and clutter up the board, so since this thread is about live bootlegs I figured I’d ask this here:

I was at a T? gig in ‘94 in the Ulster Hall and for years I’ve looked for a boot of this show. I think it was near years end (November maybe? The early to mid-90s are a blur for me, too much getting wasted on booze and other stuff.) I know the show ended with Alternative Ulster.

I was wondering if anyone ever came across this show as a boot?

Cheers
