Apart from “stay on topic”

My response would be: Andrew LLoyd Webber (minus JCS), Jackson Browne (his entire sleep inducing oeuvre) and Elton John (post 1981) better describe “over-rated.”

Amen.
I tihkn people take nirvana as more than they are, if they were just looked at as any other band then they’d be quite good, but people put them on some ridicolous pedistool which ruins things.

But it is shambling in that ‘old-fucking-pair-of-jeans-that-you-can’t-through-out’ way, innit? As far as being their worst album, I only meant that I like the others better. Quite like when we voted our least favorite T? album a ways back. Arrgh. I guess I’d make a shit lawyer, eh? ;-)

What you’ve gotta appreciate is the fact that you were mere months old when nirvana and grunge happened. I was the age you are now, and to have a band like that (not just nirvana but the whole seattle/alternative scene) come along at that point was sen-fucking-sational. Looking at it as history is no good, you had to be there to understand how that impact felt.
And thats why nirvana/cobain will always mean so much to folk like me.
Except Dennis, he’s just a cunt. :)

Mastodon - Crack the Skye (ace)
Joe Bonammasa - Ballad of John Henry
Control DVD - you know, the Anton Corbijn Joy DIvision film. Disappointing. Pretty weak, in fact.
Joy Division - Joy Division - documentary with the surviving members and Tony Wilson et al (must have been one of the last things Wilson did before dying). MUCH better than the Control film. Recommended.
Just ordered Mastodon - Blood Mountain w/ DVD.
