THREE books about the Ramones?!

Is that, like, one book for each chord they knew?

Ramones - surely the most overrated band of all time? Ace for the first, ooh, lets say 2 years even though thats probably generous, boring for the next 30. Is it just me that thinks they’re the american status quo??!

:-o I really love the Ramones, Dee Dee is the most underrated songwriter of all time!! When he left, it all went downhill IMO…
Of all the songs they released after he left, I only like the songs he wrote. For me there were no Ramones without Dee Dee, but worst of all… Dee Dee without the Ramones seemed to be nothing either :-(

Joey’s solo project on the other hand is surprisingly amazing though!!

Agreed, but if an artist painted the same, simple piece over and over for 30 years and didn’t progress or change much, you’d think that was odd, no?

The Ramones only lasted 22 years ;-)

Some bands simply don’t have to change, they were a bit like Motörhead… they can go on forever without changing. I know now what their next album will sound like, if it doesn’t, I’ll be dissapointed (probably). It’s amazing what they can do with just 3 chords :-)

I do Agree Up to “To Tough to die” there output was great and they did seem to struggle after Dee Dee Left. They did keep to a formula because to be honest when they did try and change like the “End of a century” album and adding synths it just didn’t quite work.

Of the some reason it is easy to see that you do not have listen any Ramones albums released in 80’s or 90’s, or then you doesn’t know nothing about the music.

You seem to try to tell you has heard all the Ramones albums… Can you compare albums like Pleasant Dreams, Brain Drain, and Mondo Bizarro? I really would like to hear how much similarities you found of their productions etc.

1-2-3-4 thanks Pete of all your comments, and of your help to spread word of the book to the Therapy? fans. Result of Andy Cairns’ interview is pretty extensive, and it was good to include that photo where Kati and you are with the Therapy? fans.

And sure I am happy that Ricky Warwick sent that photo to the book where he does play with Andy in front of Johnny Ramone’s statue.

Pete, sadly we did not had chance to discuss yesterday, I saw you being in first row in the audience at Nummirock.

Amorphis set was one of the best in this year. I did longer interview with Esa and Tomi of Amorphis (to Pohjalainen and local newspaper), this was their eight show at Nummirock.
Hopefully we will meet in Tammerfest. There is beside of it 3-6 festivals which I will attend. My plans of Jurassic Rock are a bit open, but if I come, it is then always better to meet personally with artists who are in a book as they might have some questions etc.

One of my favorite Ramones songs is Strength to Endure which was written by Dee Dee before he was replaced by CJ who then sung Dee Dee’s song! How fucking cheeky. Great song though.

Yeah, Amorphis was the reason we travelled to Nummirock this year, they played a blinder set there. It was the sixth show of them we´ve seen this year. maby we´ll attend Tuska next weekend…Pellavarock is for sure, the day after Jurassicrock.

Thanxx JP for sharing your Amorphis interview!!
Therapy?s: stagetime at the Jurassic Rock is very confusing: from 01.00-2.15!!! I guess that the half of the audience are way too drunk and ready to pass over cause of the drinkin. But that it´s the way in here Finland; the organizers wait and hope the audience drink that awful expensive booze as much as they can so they can have a lot of euros in the pockets from that.
Lookin forward to meet you JP there!
