Can’t people just pick one?! Whats all these lists?!!!

Doesn’t your idea of a perfect song vary every day? I can’t believe it’s always the Cheeky Girls! :p

Incidentally, f**k knows how but I missed ‘Another Girl Another Planet’ off my list…

I only picked one.

Honestly no song can ever beat hoover dam as the ‘perfect song’

i think people are confusing things a bit and just listing their favourite songs, i have songs i like more than hoover dam, but hoover dam is the only song i can listen to at any time all the way through and on repeat forever.

how about this thread gets rephrased if you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be?

yes grant, you are right. it’s not necessarily meant to be your favourite song as such. i know what i meant when i started this but it’s all gone awry. there sohuldn’t really be millions of them as the whole point is that it is the best a song as any can be. otherwise this thread would simply be called “some songs i like”. or summat.

OK then for me it would have to be Faster by the Manic Street Preachers, its a fan-fucking-tastic tune with lyrics that aren’t quite specific but still have that feel good factor. Plus its punk on its own terms without sounding like pop music like offspring/green day etc.

“By that I mean that everything about it is completely right. The music, the lyrics, the image, whatever is going on with you at the time. When it all syncs up perfectly and for the duration of that song it feels like magic. Does that make any sense? Feel free to explain why aswell if you choose.”

@NTKOG I went on your description and the fact that you picked 6! :p

@Grant - Not true - or at least not in my case. I picked the songs that make me stop whatever I’m doing and listen to them because I can’t do anything else, I have to listen to them. If I was forced at gunpoint to pick one I would pick Kiss The Bottle as it leaves me feeling a bit like I’ve been run over. It rips my heart out every time, I love it and I think everything about it is perfect, but it’s not even my favourite Jawbreaker song, let alone my favourite song!

I just remembered… Foo Fighters- Everlong, pretty much one of my favorite of all time and one that builds and flows so well every part of the song i think is perfect, lyrics, melodies, drums. Certainly a song that i wish i had written.
Shame Dave has never written anything even close ever since.

Other than that, T? - Bad Mother. Wendy & Lisa - Don’t Try To Tell Me. Rival Schools - Used For Glue. Propaganda - Duel. Ned’s Atomic Dustbin - Until You Find Out.

This is really tough…I’ve been thinking about it for a while so here goes:

Pearl Jam - off he goes - I love this song, everything about it is fantastic.
Creedence Clearwater Revival - Long as I can see the light

Finally is a piece of music that is so perfect if there was a movie of my life this would be playing at the beginning and the end. I don’t know what it’s called or if it even has a name? Can you answer that Simon?

This is tough. Going on mum’s idea of songs that I can’t not listen to:

Sister - Therapy?
Dear Lover - Social Distortion
$10 - Cop Shoot Cop
Anything At All - Firewater
Off The Hook - Barenaked Ladies
Posion - Alice Cooper
Wolfbiker - Evergreen Terrace

That’s one for each day of the week. I’d best stop there.
