Very tight gig indeed, unfortunately we got Diane instead of Fantasy Bag, but let’s not complain, they were brilliant!!
We missed a lot of people it seems, we were standing on Michael’s side. We’ll see you and Roxy at the Eier Mit Speck festival in a few weeks :)

I agree, a very good show. As it was my first show of this tour, i was a bit afraid of andy’s vocal on the new song but it was just perfect :) Amazing guitar sound is back, bass sound was insanely lovely. That’s a fact, Andy’s new look reminds me of santa claus.

Does anyone taped the show? We did it but with very poor material and bass destroy everything else. I’d be glad to hear this show again.

One tip by the way: Whatever recorder you use, use an seperate mic… that’s the most important part of your recorder!!

It’s a shame… that’s why I don’t lend stuff to people anymore, not even to my friends :-s

Recorder: Sony MZ-R700PC
Mic: ECM 719
Before we always used MZ-NH700 recorder, but it broke down :-( we ordered an Edirol flash recorder for future recordings, but it didn’t arrive yet, so we used the MZ-R700PC… the 80 minute recording limit is fine for festivals, but I get paranoid when using this for club gigs which might last longer than 80 minutes :-)

the edirol seems to be widely used by tapers and is imo a really great stuff. Back to the time when i used to tape myself, i did it on analogic tape, it was also fancy to switch side every 30 or 45 minutes :) i had a ECM-717 but i was not really happy with this mic, capturing also a lot of the audience noise. I don’t think i’ll be back in the world of taping but if i’ll do, i would get an edirol and coresound cardioid mics.

The ECM-719 I think gives value for it’s price, this one also captures a lot of audience noise, that’s why we stand in front… people are singing along here, but it’s not as bad as uninterested people talking in the back during the gig. If the people behind you are talking it’s not being captured (unless they scream) which is a good thing.
I’m actually quite satisfied by the quality of our recordings in general, I’ve heard a lot worse :-)

Yeah, that’s something i noticed (if think i can figure out where you were standing saturday). It’s also the key for a good recording : the taping location ! I know two of your recording and i was pleased the result. I shared recently the ternat recording you made on dimeadozen. (We met at this one but i was drunk as hell and have trouble remembering what could have discussed :p)
