Thanks Squall but I was already aware I didn’t have to buy it ;-)
Getting the 3cd version myself though as it wasn’t much dearer than the standard one. Mostly for the covers CD.

Interesting interview in Metal Hammer this month. I’m not a DT fan, so can anyone tell me what this situation with LaBrie is where he was given a “shape up or ship out” ultimaum in around 2002?
Was it a lifestyle thing with him going off the rails a bit, or was his singing below par or what…? The article didn’t explain what they meant by that…

Have to honestly say that it doesn’t really make a difference to me whether he is in or out. His voice was never what made me interested in DT to begin with.

Great album alright.
Wasn’t too impressed with Octovarium or Systematic Chaos, but this is definitley a return to familiar and much prefered DT territory.
A good balance of heavy and melodic passages. Even though Portnoy’s growly vocals are a bit grating, they suit this album better than on SC.
Definitely up there with Six Degrees and Train Of Thought for me.
Still have to listen to the covers and instrumental mixes, but just can’t seem to bring myself to press the eject button on the proper album yet.
Maybe next week I’ll get to them.
