bit meh to me to be honnest, metallica isnt a special attraction anymore, they’re in the uk every summer. Mastadon will no doubt be supporting endless bands (but in a machine head like way never really getting their own tour) over here once the new album comes out, i’ve heared bad things about AIC’s new singer and i diddnt even know linkin park were still going.

yeah but donnington will have like 100 odd bands, sonisphere is expected to only have one stage.

not to judge a festival on its headliners but downloads are worse than sonispheres

prodigy slipknot and motley crue

last time motley crue and prodighy played there they were headlining the second stage

slipknot were like 3rd down from headliner on main last time I believe.

nothing against those bands but theyre hardly ‘headliners’

Well i won a pair of camping tickets, so im there, the line up has shaped up very nicely, im in shock.

and apparantly bjorn again are doing a metal style show, bloody alien ant farm is the thing im most concerned there, only on the bill cus they covered smooth criminal

tomorrow it´s in Pori here in Finland bout 100km from our home. Tickets 89€. Was planning in the spring to enter but when the other band were announced I wasn´t anymore…shite finnishbands supporting (well Saxon is always nice to see and hear) and now when Anthrax pulled off the bill..blaaaah:(

I’m really pissed off ‘cos of the Pori’s arrangements sucked cock and lot! I fuckin’ missed Mastodon. If there are anyone who saw them @ Pori in 25th of July, when did they start to play? It must’ve been much earlier than 13 o’clock. All I heard was “March Of The Fire Ants” from the very end while crossing some bloody bridge! The main thing why I missed them is because of time tables; there were none! Oh, sorry there was one place where you could buy it, for 5 euros, pretty expensive, eh? Hell fucking yeah! My number one priority was to see Mastodon on stage. Think I’ll have to wait once again…last few times they made gigs here I was at work, being sick and this time I missed them because of time tables. Fucking great!

Fortunately I saw almost all the other bands (Lamb Of God, Linkin Park, Diablo, Machine Head, Turisas and of course Metallica). And no, Anthrax didn’t show there ‘and Turisas the finnish viking metal band were the replacement. They were superior.
Fortunately Metallica fixed things up and they played few flawless classics like Motorbreath, Harvester Of Sorrow, Blackened etc. Seek & Destroy took my voice, I’m still up to get it back.

But still my anger is boiling inside of me.

Yep, shitty arrangements indeed. And all this in the same place, where they have a over-a-week-long jazz festival with a shit-load of people and extremely good arrangements (expensive, though). The ppl in charge of arranging Sonisphere apparently weren’t the same responsible for arranging Pori Jazz. No trashcans, nowhere to return you empty beer can (5 € for a .33 l of Fosters!), no vegetarian food. And the list goes on.

I saw half of the Mastodon gig. We left Helsinki 8.30 by a bus, but still couldn’t quite make it to the start. They must’ve started 12.30. And Petri, I feel for you, but some of my friends came with the festival cruise. The boat arrived at Pori around seven in the evening, so they pretty much missed everything else except Metallica.

As a cherry on the top, Phil Demmel passed out 30 mins in to the Machine Head gig I was quite enjoying and they had to stop early. Eh.. :/

Machine Head are rumoured to be back on the bill…

gotta be honest…not that excited by the line up - Metallica and Linkin Patk are always great spectacles but the rest is a bit questionable

Why would they not play? They said right after the incident that it’s not the first time that happens to Demmel and he’s allright.

Why are they complaining - thats how it goes!! Metallica aint exactly gonna go for the best line up are they?? they are gonna go for who pays the most for the buy on!

yeah i was being an arse - im sure the bill is handled by the promoter in cases like this.

i have an old Metal Hammer somewhere and i think it was a band called underoath (dont quote me i cant remember all the facts) bought on to ozzfest and i remember being amazed how much it cost them to play one show for 25 minutes. quite crap really when you think that the osbournes dont need the money
