Its like an even more pointless and shitter version of facebook but with nothing to actually do but update your status every minute in the desperate hope that someone actually cares that you have just found your favorite pencil or taken a dump.
I refuse to take seriously something that leads to people asking me if i’m “tweeting yet?”…??? FUCK OFF and come back and when you can ask me a worthwhile question like an adult.
I can see why bands do it as these days it sadly seems to be a way to let people know whats going on… I generally don’t like people to know whats happening in my life and have even less interest in others hourly updates.

Gumble gumble whatever happened to written letters grumble grumble or the phone…

Surprisingly no… I actually lost respect for Trent from NIN for it.

“9.30am i have my fluffy slippers on and made some scrummy toast
10.27am just put my readers digests in order
12.06pm just going into my dark place ready for the recording in the studio
7.58pm written a heavy and industrial tune about fucking people like animals
8.30pm cool..will and grace is on”

Fuck that, its one thing to be up to date with whats going on in peoples lives like family/ friends or what bands are doing… but then there is too much info and i would rather have some mystery and suspense left in my life for when i do find out stuff.

To be fair, he did just use Twitter to help raise about $1,000,000 for charity in under a week.

I hate twitter too, really. Definitely have no interest in using it, and find it slightly embarrassing when bands I like are using it, but oh well.

Yeah that’s cool of him, as i said bands these days do have to use stuff like this to promote themselves and update the fans.. in this case to raise money for something. But when he was going on twitter just to say how shit Cornells album was (even though it was) was a bit childish.

Maybe it’s different if you’re following a lot of random people just for the hell of it, or expecting band members to be more than just a normal person.

Most of the people in bands that I follow are people that I actually know, or have an interest in the opinions of. I reckon that twitter is pretty useless unless you’re seeing posts by people who either pass on more information about things that interest you, or they’re people you don’t have a realistic view of and they’re posting everyday stuff - making them more like a real person.

I don’t think its a case of not wanting them to be real… i prefer bands to come across normal, all the big bands i’ve had the pleasure to work with have a presence about them but when you are talking to them about kitchen fittings it makes it easier to connect.
I will be honest, i haven’t been on or look up trents page.. i am going on what people have told me he posts up all the time which isn’t band updates. Just made me wonder why someone who was So private has suddenly started doing this… not being a big computer person myself i’m probably missing the appeal?

It’s not less pointless then most things on the internet. I had mixed feelings about twitter myself but a mate got me into it and now I think it’s fun.

0% Interest in it. I would delete my Facebook if it werent for the fact you need an account to see your friends photos. And if theyve been on holiday or something, it’s easier than them hosting them all an eamiling them to you one by one… But apart form that its shite. What is your real age in metric tonnes ?! OH DO FUCK OFF :p

I am glad I didn’t read this before Wednesday because I would have thought when NIN played a dark song: What episode of Will and Grace followed this song…oh, and in my humble opinion Will and Grace are not too dark themselves: I don’t want to know too much either, I just want to be updated by music, news, tour, albums, etc

Ok, I am off making a darkbrown sandwich on which I will put some butter and strawberry jam on top and then I will wait until my eggs are boiled…now you all wanted to know that, right!
