Little Boots question

#

Started by Citizen Erased (confused again)

A man - let’s say a 35 year old, but merely for argument’s sake, goes to the gym and hears a song which he quite likes. He later finds out that the song is ‘New In Town’ by Little Boots. He then hear’s another catchy gym-esque ditty, which turns out to be ‘Remedy’ by Little Boots. Does he:

a) download both from iTunes
b) download the whole album from iTunes
c) buy the CD
d) ask his girlfriend to get the CD for his birthday*
e) go for a cold shower, act his age and stop referring to Little Boots as ‘Lovely Boobs’ ?

*Girlfriend, who is not a massive Crooked Timber fan but who loves Troublegum, has recently found the man’s purchases of Lady Gaga’s ‘Poker Face’ and La Roux’s ‘In For The Kill’ faintly disturbing, albeit not as disturbing as the growing number of Eurotrance anthems appearing on the man’s iPod…

There’s nowt wrong with having an eclectic mix in your collection, nor is there anything wrong with pop like Lady GaGa and La Roux, in my opinion.

However, I am 36 years old, 15 and a half stone and probably NOT the benchmark of cool others would want to measure themselves up against…

(PS using the excuse “Oh, it’s for working out in the gym to, that’s all…” doesn’t fool anybody, son! :p )

I don’t hate the music so much as all the bloody hype surrounding “wacky” stars peddling mediocre tunes. Same old, same old, I suppose.

Get the missus to buy it for your birthday - That way you get the cd and if it turns out to be shit or 6 months down the line you become overwhelmingly embarrassed by it, you can just blame her and pretend that you never wanted it in the first place.

Win / win mate!

A kind friend, who is far more indie than me, has agreed to lend me her copy providing I do the same with the new Arctics and also drop the use of ‘Lovely Boobs’. Although they are. Now just have to replace Green Day on my beloved’s ipod with some electro… :-)

Still slightly embarrassed by the trancy version of ‘Moonlight Shadow’… :-(

Tell ‘the Man’ (!) to buy the CD online and keep it well hidden at the bottom of his CD collection underneath the albums by Manowar, Bad Boys Inc, Let Loose and east 17!! And Green Day obviously - embarassing pop band that they are!

Surely the might of the MANOWAR (for they must be referred to in capitols) would destroy the cd’s below it?

iTunes was designed as a kind of “back-of-wardrobe shoebox” to hide dodgy tunes.

I also downloaded Lady GaGa but draw the line at La Roux - talentless ginger minger.

I’d gamble on the full album.

Blackpool is good if you’ve got a thing for gangs of 40-something slappers with chlamydia, in pink cowboy hats.

Or smackheads.

From Blackpool. Credit to the girl for leaving the place.

With La Roux, yes, it’s just about the music, Vicky Boots is very cute though.

Hopefully the CD will be dropped on my desk this morning…

tbh, I’ve been liking the mainstream music scene recently… not bad!

Hello from uni… what have I missed?
