Sorry I’ve been searching teh internets to no avail, can anyone tell me how to fix this? …

Google is my email server, so my email address is me@mywork.com but it runs through gmail. I’m using Firefox, and in the Options>Applications tab I’m trying to set it so the default email when I click on a mailto link is my work email, not effing Outlook Express. I can see how to set it to Gmail instead of Outlook, but that takes me to mail.google.com, when I want it to take me to mail.mywork.com

Are there any clever persons who know how to do this?

I’m right clicking to new string value and it first asks me to ‘enter preference name’, which is “network.protocol-handler.expose.mailto”, no? But if I type that, it just closes the dialogue box. If I type http://mail.mywork.com it then asks me to ‘enter string value’ which I think should be be http://mail.mywork.com - nowt happens after that though.

Also the type doesn’t change from boolean to string, whatever I do.. which it should, shouldn’t it?

I tried that Javascript thing too but Firefox didn’t ask me if I wanted to change my default, it just opened a blank page. I’m cursed :(

Try that - I’ve tried on mine but it doesn’t work - failing that - change the default mailto app in the operating system. (i guess you can see outlook in the options to choose - as this will be set as your default in windows probably)

Meh, maybe it’s not possible - that Mozilla page basically said it only supported Gmail/ Yahoo and that there might be upgrades in the future. So I guess I’m either stuck with it, or I have to route of all the work email through a standard Gmail account. I’m not sure it’s worth the hassle :s
