ive been listening to alot of funeral for a friend recently, purely because it doesnt seem to piss people off if i blast it loud here and its got enough heavy bits to satisfy me without pissing all my neighbours off and some of the songs are fairly catchy, someone shoot me.

Swallow The Sun - The Morning Never Came - decided to give this band’s first album a try. Sounded good, but I have so many CDs now that I’ve become very selective about new (well, new to me) bands that I get into. This one, though good, won’t be added to my CD collection.
Skunk Anansie - Post Orgasmic Chill
Alice in Chains - Dirt

Quite like it - there is a bit more variety than the last one. There is one particular song on it that has a dig at all the rumours of a ‘roses reunion.
Listened to this a few times, really like it, some top tunes!

Against Me! - As The Eternal Cowboy - anyone heard The Original Cowboy? I’m interested how it compares. Doesn’t seem like it should be a full price CD to me though, so I haven’t bought it.

Therapy? - 1990 RTE Radio Sessions
Good stuff. Surprising that they had songs back in 1990 and didn’t put them on to an album till 1994.
Also, “Body, Mind, Soul” (or whatever it’s called) is really good. Kinda psychedelic. Shame T? never did anything like this on any of their albums :-( Still, there’s always time… ;-) How about a nice psychedelic metal album next!

NANE’s actually probably my least favourite Therapy? full length album. Still good though. 3 of the songs (Polar Bear, Save The Sermon and Last One To Heaven’s A Loser) are about the worst songs T? have ever done in my opinion. Just listened to:
Severed Nerve - The Y Incision

Finally listened to this. Not bad, some great guitar work (of course), but nothing really stuck out. Enough of the phony news clips in the songs already.
Also finally listened to the new Pearl Jam. A couple of really strong tracks, but again nothing exceptional.

The first Stone Roses album - kinda a bit late to the party with it but its far better than I expected.
I’ve had a ‘Best of’ for years - except that it didn’t have any songs of Second Coming and was mainly made up of b-sides… hence the fact that I only ever credited them as having a few really decent songs.

Yeah, I have all their albums, but still need to get the EP from earlier this year. @#?! is my favourite album of theirs. I think there’s only one website selling their new EP, and I’d probably have to pay shipping from the US from there, which is why I haven’t got it.
I’m actually listening to Matters again right now.
And I just listened to:
Alice in Chains - Dirt
Porcupine Tree - Voyage 34 (The Complete Trip)
The Sugi Tap - The Sugi Tap EP

I’m really enjoying the new Ian Brown album. Some of his stuff is pretty boring but this one is great.

I saw him last year, he has a good band behind him so its worth seeing if you have the case… as sam said you don’t see him for his beautiful singing voice. It was a shame that the roses songs he does do steal the night.

Interesting. To me, the last half of NANE saves it! Gotta love tracks like Polar Bear, Rock You Monkeys, Long Distance, Save The Sermon, Last One To Heavens A Loser.
Anyway, currently listening to ‘The Dio Years’ - Black Sabbath.
I think I’ll throw on some Isis later to refresh me before their gig in Cork in two weeks time.
