Good 4 * review of Tuesdays gig in the Daily record today.
Ahem…
“For a 3 piece, Therapy? make a serious amount of noise.
Setting the tone for a night of intense thrashing, they kicked off with the brutal Punishment Kiss then hammered through songs like Teethgrinder and Opal Mantra at a frantic pace.
Frontman Andy Cairns is clearly having a great time bouncing up and down with a big grin on his face, even during songs like the doom-laden Bad Excuse For Daylight.
For all the musics aggression, Cairns is a funny and warm personality, dedicating I Told You I Was Ill too Spike Milligan and Clowns Galore to Gordon Brown and David Cameron.
When introducing Rain Hits Concrete, he describes his hometown of Ballyclare as being so rubbish it doesn’t have a twin town, but a suicide pact with Dagenham. They follow this with a cover of Joy Division’s Isolation, which is given added muscle with Michael McKeegan’s bass playing.
A hardcore audience lap up every move and it’s easy to see how they have survived for 20 years, with an infectious enthusiasm for thier music and fans that should see them last for a long time yet!!”
