My girlfriend tends to prefer the heavier stuff and grinned like a loon when I played her Rust - I think it’s very metal and heavier than anything except for SP-YF (although I’ve still not heard Babyteeth or Pleasure Death).

Because I am a tight-fisted bugger, and have live versions of a few of them - I’ll get round to it sooner or later though.

Rust always reminds me of Alice In Chains anyone else?

i don’t think ‘rust’ even comes close to any riff on ‘vulgar display of power’..

sure, it’s kinda “heavy” and the song’s great but oh boy i miss those trademark t? start/stop riffs.

I’d say it’s kind of a cross between Helmet and ‘I Will Lead You’ by Filter.

And the riff off ‘Stalk And Slash’ rocks! I’ve always liked the one of ‘Sister’ cause it’s so damn cheesy… :cool:

Well, speaking of edginess, I don’t think those mid-90’s era songs have much edge. A lot of them are a little too ‘punk-by-numbers’ for me. Even Andy said he could write Troublegum-type songs in his sleep ‘cos there’s a basic formula to follow when writing them!

My favourite T? stuff is generally stuff like Perversonality, Dancin with Manson, Neck Freak, Prison Breaker - the more drum driven stuff. Rust has a lot of cool drumming, but also a great lead riff.

So you see, I’m a fan of the older stuff too but not really the punky stuff.
