Petition to have the song “Shameless” released

#

Started by Epitome (Dave)

This might interest me more than most, as I seem to like the album Shameless more than many T? fans, but join me in my request for the unreleased would-be-title-track to see the light of day.

Even just as an MP3, be it free or to buy - I’d love to hear it!

And might as well get BSF out to us as well!

Who’s with me?

Blood Sucking Freaks, I think it stands for. Another unreleased track from the Shameless era. A cover song, I forget who did it originally (not a song I’m familiar with).

I think very often about this 2 songs.
Would be great to hear them.
Andy mentioned Shameless sounds similar to Nowhere.
But I think the rights have the record company.

Well whoever has the rights… there’s no point in having those songs just sitting there not being heard - they might as well sit in my ears whilst I rock out. Or something like that.

I say, if we don’t get them soon, we take to the streets!

No one’s ever heard the song! It’s a crime! Surely it’s a cracker. Well, I suppose some people have heard it, but not us loyal fans. I plan to keep complaining until I get to hear it :-P

rights for both songs are owned by Sub Pop

I highly doubt Sub Pop will ever release this, even in mp3 form.
The only chance is for T? or their record company to buy the rights back.

I agree, any unreleased stuff would be nice, it’s just that song is top of my list.

If I remember correclty they also recorded 2 other Black Halos songs, and Blach Halos recorded 3 Therapy? songs shortly after Semi-Detached for a split cd that was never released (probably because A&M got closed down?)

I would love to hear more unreleased tracks than just Shameless :)

T? recorded an original & a Black Halos cover
Black Halos recorded an original & a T? cover

All 4 were to be released on a 7” for Sub Pops monthly 7” club, but the Black Halos got dropped by Sub Pop and so all four songs are in Sup Pops vault.

Seems I’m wrong about the Sub Pop vault thing, as per an old discusison on here:

Seems to me Ark21 would therefore have the rights to the T? songs, while Sup Pop would have the Black Halos songs.
In case you’re wondering and don’t feel like searching the WOM for it, Black Halos covered Lonely Crying Only,

“T? recorded an original & a Black Halos cover”
So which song was the original they recorded? Was that Shameless? Or is it another that we don’t even know the title of? Whatever the case, talking about all this is making me want it even more!

Yeah, but even if they’re not very good I’d like to hear them. Can’t be any worse than Polar Bear anywhere.

And anyway, in the case of this Black Halos split, it seems the songs weren’t released due to one of those bands being dropped, so no indication that the songs themselves couldn’t be great.

I thought this E.P was done during the recording of Shameless so would be Ark and sub pop.. as The Balck Halos helped out during shameless? but i could be wrong?

Worst Therapy? song ever, surely - the tune goes nowhere, considering it’s relatively long (for that album). And the lyrics seem pointless to me, but maybe I’m missing something.

I’d say it’s closely followed by Tango Romeo - what’s he on about sneaking in his pants for?

Polar Bear is awesome, the key is in the repetition and build, it’s a slow burner with a spectacular ending eruption. The lyrics add to the build and boredom as it picks up and the end portion of the song sonicallly represents the Polar Bear losing it’s mind, freaking out and tearing the face off its keeper.

Or something.

I’m always up for new music - I’ve been listening to a lot of early 90s B-sides and it’s like they released a new album, it’s awesome. I’ve heard them before but not for ages.

Deep Sleep is fucking rubbish. I think they only managed to go worse with Body Bag Girl which sounds like a shit Gary Glitter cover… Voodoo Doll is in the bottom 3 for me too.

Polar Bear I can take or leave - I hated it on record at first but after hearing it live I liked it slightly more (slightly)
