Why have people included albums from the 70s and 80s when the titles says “Best albums of the 90’s”?

I always think of the 90s as my favourite decade for music. And there was that certain sound music (well, some music) had in the 90s - a kind of dark, gritty edge to the music which I really love.

But, although I’d probably still say the 90s is my favourite decade for music, I probably have more albums from this last decade than from the 90s - what with still following bands I liked from the 90s as well as adding a load of new bands too.

So I’m not sure whether my fondness for the 90s is partly nostalgic. This decade has probably been just as good, if I’m honest.
