i agree very much sir. i was impressed with muse earlier this year (for me a big gig needs to have a certain amount of video etc and just not a bunch of people on a stage) but DM were far more impressive. i have a couple of highlight (“Home” and “Walking In My Shoes”) up on youtuve if you want to spy it again. i am astoryontheradio. i believe i am the first hit if you put in depeche mode london o2, then either of those songs.

Wildhearts and AntiProduct at Leeds Rios on Saturday.
Wildhearts good as usual, Rios - shit venue, nowhere near as good as The Cockpit.
AntiProduct - worst band I have ever seen. And I’ve seen Daphne and Celeste AND Groop Dogdrill
I wanted to go to that…have seen Antiprodct a number of times. They can be pretty good when they want to be. Can’t remember why I didn’t go now…

Yesterday I saw some band I forgot the name of, Sick of it All and finally Dropkick Murphys in the Lotto Arena in Antwerp. Wasn’t really my style and I didn’t enjoy it very much, but some mates asked me along. I didn’t say I didn’t like it, after all, no one really spoke of the gig as we were going home anyway and it at least ‘seemed’ everyone had had a good time. Last time I pay a ticket for a gig I can’t be sure about though, will have to conduct some research first next time :’)

Indeed, judging by how the crowd behaved the gig was a succes and I was really thinking it’d be OK for me as well but it didn’t turn out so. I think there was 1 song I thought was pretty good, the rest was rather ‘meh’. I take it it also doesn’t help if you don’t know their songs though, ‘cos then you can hardly get any of the lyrics. But I’ve seen gigs of bands I didn’t know well that weren’t exactly my style (Ultravox at Lokerse Feesten as best example, but some of the bands at Sinner’s Day as well) that I thought were great, so that wasn’t just it. A friend messaged me ‘they’re playing way too many new songs’, so that could’ve been it as well. I didn’t hear 1 song I knew, while I was pretty certain it was one of those kind of bands that was established enough to have a few songs I’d recognize, but there were none, so she was probably right. I knew they had 1 song I knew and thought was good because it was on Fifa 2001 and I didn’t hear it :( (stopped playing those shitty games though ;)). I think the Dropkick Murphys is one of those bands with a very established fanbase that follow them everywhere, ‘cos there were a LOT of t-shirts carrying their names other than the ones that were sold at the Arena. It was a very good, energetic crowd. I was also surprised by the number of people who sung along with Sick of It All.

went to see marduk and anaal nathrakh in cardiff on saturday, been waiting a long time to see nathrakh and they diddnt dissapoint only let down was they only played for half an hour, and dave spent far too long talking between songs considering they had such a short set. marduk were very good but a bit samey and gimmicky, they insisted on playing wierd noise over the pa before every single song and it just sounded cheesy after a while, and they looked pretty laughable.

Saw a poster in the window of some random venue in Dublin last night that mentioned they had a DJ on that would play at least one tune of The Fall.
The poster then featured a young kid ( 5/6 years old ) in a The Fall t-shirt.
Went in and had great night , unfortunately didn’t catch his name.
