I think that they sounded better live as a four piece

I think they actually sound better as a 3 piece, the power is still there plus, look, Neil is fucking superb!!
However, I think as a 4-piece, the setlist was more varied from the gigs I have been to. I think they play better now, but have played better setlists as a 4-piece (more stuff from more albums)
I’ve been drinking:s sorry if it makes no sense!

I think they sound a lot better as a 3-piece and the athmosphere on stage is also better now.

I liked the songs that Martin did on cello but I think they play tighter as a 3 piece.

I did like what they did as a four piece - the cello was cool, and Martin can certainly sing better than Mikehell (no offence), but Andy was saying that he was becoming a lazy guitar player because he always had another guitar to pick up the slack. They’re definitely a lot tighter since he’s got sole guitar responsibilities.

They never played that much early stuff as a four piece but as a 3 piece they do but they can’t play any of the twin guitar riffs on SD SPYF or the cello songs on IL without it missing something

songs like Bad Mother, Heavens Gate for example

But I stilll think there better as a 3 piece but a session cello player when they are on tour would be ace

Yeah i miss the cello a bit but guitar wise i dont think martin added very much anyhow. i guess personality is a big part of it too? If they got someone new in i think as long as they “got” the T? sound they could be good but if it was just someone random it would just be crap.

That’s not to say the four piece era wasn’t fantastic, but sometimes less is more!

Nope - 3 Piece all the way. They just have more power that we and at least the bass stands out more.

yeah i agree with above. T? should be a bass driven band with those great dirty bass riffs! when its hidden under walls of guitars all playing the same part it just sounds like any other rock band. the 3 piece way is definately unique

3 piece !! But it would be nice if just a cello will join for some songs like on IL tour. But not as a part of the band.

Definately a 3 piece band, yeah,!!!!! Though;generally speaking,I like the fact there’s a second guitar player in a band to make the sound thicker…But in the T? case, I agree with what has been said above, the Bass makes the job!!!…And bringing a cello player just on tour is a good idea.
