So he’s decided this is the only way he can save his career now, after his solo effort? At least Soundgarden were decent, not like Audioslave. Can’t say they were ever one of my favourite bands though, and I don’t expect much to come from this.

Great news though I hope they stay true to themselves and not release a load of shit. ‘Down on the Upside’ was a superb way to bow out.
Cornell often said he didn’t want to spoil their legacy by reforming, so I hope now that they have reformed, the ‘Scream’ album influences are well kept at bay!! Also, is Cameron going to double-duty in Pearl Jam?

Totally brilliant news — though there is a slight thread in my head that says “mmm, another when-I-was-growing-up-kinda-band reforming-will-it-be-as-good-as-I-had-imagined?”… then again, FNM, AIC, both absolutely brilliant in reformation. Despite Soundgarden not neatly abbreviating to three initials, I am very excited. Now, what about STP?!

Oh, BTW, good point on Cameron, and it was my second thought (after ‘YAY!’). What’s the deal there? Will it be a case of the changing stool of the ever-replaceable drummer (no coprophilia references intended)?

Cameron fits really well with Pearl Jam - plus Pearl Jam must be finished with their world tour so maybe there is a few blank dates to fill in his diary?

I remember all those years ago when the Sex Pistols reformed and some people were outraged at the very idea of a band reforming, as though it was blasphemous or something. It’s all changed now. Saw Faith No More last year and they were brilliant. Hope to now see Soundgarden at some stage. But who next???
