Iron Maiden too play only play one show in the U.K in 2010 is it me or is that kinda selfish to us die hard metal fans ?

Great live band (seen them live 3 times now).

Would love to see them live again (they didn’t stop by here on the last tour - shame!)

Seen them twice myself and they do put on a show but would love to see them in Cardiff again as i’m not keen on festivals myself. In saying that, saying its only their UK gig might be a selling point, so who knows

It always amazes me that Maiden are still going stronger than ever :-)

They were the first band I ever saw, at Sheffield Arena in 1993 on the Real Live One tour :-)

Are they touring? Where are they playing?
I’ve shaken Bruce Dickinson’s hand. Does that make me immortal?

Ain’t they a tired and unexciting band, now? Has-been used-to-be-cool rock band? Anyone agree with me?

But is there a time when rock bands should retire…

When it becomes all corporate money-making bullshit…

Last album was deadly - don’t know what you are on about. I agree that it seemed like they had lost it a bit during the No Prayer for the Dying era - hated the Blaze Bailey years, but ever since Bruce and Adrian have been back it has been pretty solid - amazing live!

Thanks for disagreeing. I’m really glad you enjoy them. But I’m assuming you don’t just hanker for the old, but the new too?

On the subject of “new maiden” - Their albums since Brave New World (incl. BNW) have been quality - great live too!

I really like BNW and AMOLAD but I thought Dance of Death was patchy and pretty much shite. They absolutely slayed last year on tour though. I wasn’t too sure at first about a third guitar live for the old stuff, but Jannick (sp?) made it work.

maiden are the most uncorporate band of their size ever. i cant believe every time they release a single or album it makes top ten nowadays, with no promotion at all really other than a video that gets shown on scuzz or kerrang, and live recordings of them now sound better than they did in the eighties.
