Anyway i would like to see how Soundgarden sound now… as i saw them on the Badmotorfinger tour and they were great, but on the last tour they were okay a bit dull.
I saw them in Dublin in 1995 and they looked bored to death, poor sound etc. Disappointing in retrospect but it was my first ever gig so I loved it all the same. I’m worried that the reunion novelty will wear off quite quickly and they’ll realise they still can’t stand eachother. I reckon they’ll spilt again before the years over assuming the thing gets off the ground at all.

I like soulfly but theyre not as classic as sepultura, they aint made an album to beat chaos ad or even roots.
Continuing off-topic (sorry!) i actually think foo fighters are 10x the band that nirvana could ever be.

I was at that gig and they were poor. A few flashes of brilliance, but overall, they seemed bored. Thankfully White Zombie and Mudhoney were on before them and rocked the place!!

All my mates that have commented on the Soundgarden reunion and have seen them before have basically agreed and said they were rubbish live. Which is an awful shame. If they are going to reunite, I hope they fix whatever problems they have playing live together before they get on stage. Otherwise, don’t bother, is what I’d say. Or put a sign outside gig venues saying “nothing’s changed, so make sure you have a few more beers before showtime”…

I’ve seen them 3 times and thought they were outstanding every time…!

That said, even if they do turn out to be rubbish, having never seen them before, I’d rather have the opportunity to come to my own conclusions by seeing the show(s) myself.

Since both the guitar player, the bass player and the drummer are outstanding musicians, the only problems left that they could have with live gigs are Cornell’s voice (I saw Audioslave live in 2003 and he was great, but Soundgarden songs are tougher for the vocals) and the “we like to play music together” feeling. Problems that they probably have now, even bigger than before.
Add that Chris declared “I don’t like being in a band” just a few months ago and you got the picture.
Anyway, if they come to Italy I’ll go, I hope I’m wrong!
(besides, I saw Alice in Chains live in December and they are great!!!)

@Wyrd - a valid point, but I hope that they do reunite and that the do it without too much cynicism and put on a good show. If they argue backstage afterwards, I don’t really care. LIke you - if they turn up in the UK, I will definitely go see the show.
(and I agree on AIC!)

This is sad. Chris Cornell’s falling even further from grace. I was a huge fan of early 90’s rock for a long time, but all these reunions help me realize: It’s time to let go.

I love Soundgarden, but I dunno… I’m sure the other guys can still do their thing, but I lost a lot of respect for Chris Cornell after seeing him perform Hunger Strike with Chester Bennington.
I’d still see them as long as the tickets were a reasonable price, but I don’t wanna put down fifty quid to see four guys who hate each other trying to play Jesus Christ Pose again.

The money thing is crazy, isn’t it? The tickets I bought for STP at Brixton were in the region of £46 each… Now whilst I really really am looking forward to seeing them (as I never caught them first time around), I imagine it’s going to be guys on stage, a few lights, and that’s about it.
I was at Brixton last week to see Steel Panther and with a reasonably non-basic stage set (i.e. a couple of large props, a couple of glitter cannons), the tickets were just £16 (ish).
I realise it’s all supply and demand, but a few days after going on sale, the STP tickets are still to be had.
