Can’t find any reference to this anywhere at the moment but it is possible it’s just being released as a 24 bit gold plated cd (sony (urgggh) used to do this years ago) but hopefully not and it’ll have the uncut down version of magic mountain on there (allegedly 20 mins!) and there were supposed to be 14 songs recorded for the album 2 of which were released on the crooked timber single so maybe the full wack?, heres to hoping.

I thought Don’t Try was as good as anything on CT, while Low Winter Sun was decent but didn’t measure up. An uncut MM might be interesting though!

Very strange too that they’ve actually altered the album itself. Normally the bonus tracks are just tagged on at the end of the regular album, instead they’ve put “sample versions” in there… what does that mean exactly?

Did the band have input into this release?

Yeah, that’s what I would’ve liked to see, Alan. Either as a stand-alone EP, or re-release the album with that as a bonus disc (but the stand-alone would be best). Not sure what you meant by “Track 13” and “Track 14”, but other than that, that’s exactly the track listing I would’ve liked to see.

Ah, right. I presumed one of those 2 missing tracks was a studio version of Treacle Foot, but is that not the case, or is it unknown? But yeah, that’s bizarre, that they would have 2 more recorded songs and not put them on there… maybe this release isn’t even official…

I’m still wanting the track “Shameless”, surely a band member can leak it to us just to be nice ;-) Now I’ll have to add these two mystery Crooked Timber tracks to my Most Wanted list as well. Crap! :-)

Ah, I have read through that list a few times before actually - didn’t know one of the WOMbles had created it! Well done, I’ve found it very helpful. I think I have pretty much all the rarities that are available except maybe a couple of remixes or live songs.

I don’t have many of the unreleased ones (but I guess many of those are totally unreleased, so no one has them). I would LOVE LOVE LOVE the Infernal Love, Shameless, NANE and CT out-takes/demos… anyone think we might hear those one day?

Argh! Even though I’m not expecting to hear them either, I was hoping you’d say something more positive and give me hope! :-P

Those attic tapes would be cool, but I’d still love all those studio out-takes to surface one day - surely someone connected can get hold of them and leak them, it must be possible! :-D

in all fairness this is a blatent label cash in trying to get us fans to pay for an album we already own for a few extra tracks, very shameless. i will be downloading the new tracks for free. fuck you dr2 records.

Don’t think I’ll be getting it myself as I’m not a big fan of remixes. I don’t know how much band involvement there’s been in this, by past experience I would imagine if the band were heavily involved they’d probably offer us a lot more extra material, they’re usually very good with that.

Won’t get this one, I’m not a fan of remixes. The record company has to try harder to get my euros :-p

To be honest! It’s a pretty weak attempt at a ‘Deluxe’ re-release.

If it was a 2 disc version with the original album, plus remixes/demos/alternative versions of all or most of the tracks including the full-length Magic Mountain and the b-sides and 2 unreleased tracks, I’d buy it in a shot.
