I feel In Utero really shows the direction they would’ve gone - heavier and rawer. And it had to be re-produced as well, as the version they originally wanted was deemed to uncommercial.

Yeah - I like it, they’ve got their sound and they stick to it, they are like the slacker, alternative Slayer, you know what you are gonna get with em.

Drudkh - Microcosmos - Black metal band from the Ukraine, I’m not sure if they sing in English or in Ukrainian, not that it really matters.
Ludicra - Fex Urbis Lex Orbis - another black metal tip off from my brother!
Black Breath - Heavy Breathing - Kinda like a punky ‘Slayer-meets-Entombed’.

I´ve listened a lot to Slayer and specially the latest of them as they were BRILLIANT at the Sonisphere CZ. Also Billy Idol as he threw a ROCKIN F%&¤In Rollin gig in Hellsinki in the beginning of June. Also lots of old Danzig (waiting that the postman will bring me latest) as he was the KING here at the Sauna Open Air festival in mid June. Black Sabbath Vol 4: it´s good to go to the basics sometimes, old Ozzy rules (havent heard the latest solo from him yet, is it worth gettin)

I’m lovin the post-black-metal stuff at the moment. I’m really into that Wolves In the Throne Room kinda sound.

I’ve also had a couple of listens to the new Danzig record and I’m quite liking that.

The new issue of Metal Hammer had a cd on the front with a bunch of new UK bands, some of the tracks on that were pretty interesting so I am looking out for some of those. Feed The Rhino was one of the ones that springs to mind.
