Inception ( the movie )

Anyone seen it yet and what do you think ?

Saw it the other night and think it’s something I’ve never seen before. Miss two seconds of it and you miss the whole film.
It was so good , I really wouldn’t know how to describe it.

Yeah one of the best films, with a totally origonal plot. that I’ve seen for ages.

I’m positive it’s the kind of film you can watch a few times and still pick new things up from it.

Liked it quite a bit as well, although I did find it a bit like the first Matrix structurally and some of the action got a tad redundant. Overall, a fun, mindbending ride.

I thought it was really good. Like steve says it was like the Matrix in many ways only here they dont explain very much - you learn by seeing which leaves a few questions but overall a very good film.

I thought it was very very good, possibly better than The Matrix because it was more about story and less about looking cool. Joseph Gordon Levitt seems to be doing a good job at going from teen to growed-up

It’s definitely better than the Matrix - which, after all, was a pile of arse anyway.

Inception - great looking film, superb acting and directing, and an intriguing concept, but as RoyBatty says there was a fair amount of redundant action and the plot wasn’t as compelling as the acting or direction deserved it to be.

A very good film, but not as great as many would have you believe.

SPOILER ALERT IN THIS POST!!!!!! if by the end you mean when Leo spins the top when he gets back to his kids it is left open to decide whether you think he is still in the dream or got out. Thats why you dont see the spinning top fall over. Personally i believe he got out as his goal was to get back in America and see his kids faces - both of which we see happen. if he were still in the dream, surely he WOULDN’T see his kids faces (as he doesn’t in the dream). Thats my interpretation of the end anyway.

Plus - who was the guy playing his mate? I remember him as a kid actor but couldn’t place him.

SPOILER:
1. true the top does not fall over, but it does falter, and it was said that the top would never falter… therefore it was not a dream, imo

2. however i have a question: in the first dream when the van is going over, the passengers are in free fall. this causes everyone in the second dream to be without gravity. but why not in the third/forth dream? maybe i missed something?

overall a fantastic movie!!!

2. - yeah, good point!

We didn’t wait for the end of the credits but its not mentioned on wikipedia. I did think if the last bit was a dream then theoretically the whole thing could be.

The mate was Joseph Gordon-Levitt who was in Third Rock from the Sun as a teen

2. SPOILER!!!!! I believe they state somewhere that the physical effects of the sleeper can only penetrate one level of dreaming thats why they don’t lose gravity. ie what happens to them in the van has no bearing on the the snow scene (I’m pretty sure Leo says that somewhere).

Lots of plot holes though I think. But I guess that’s part of it, to make people discuss it. Like why didn’t Leo wife have one of those objects to find out if she was in a dream or not, then she wouldn’t have jumped from the window ledge right?
