Your Ultimate Gig Line-Up

#

Started by chr1s (I can't remember my own name)

What would your ultimate gig line up be? Pick 4 bands you would like to see on 1 bill. Mine would probably be something like:-

Pearl Jam
Alice In Chains
Faith No More
Therapy?

Are we talking about currently active bands or any band / any era?

Currently Active (cause I havent seen em yet and really want to):
Faith No More
Soundgarden
Stone Temple Pilots

Dream Lineup would have to be a weekend festival with:
Guns n Roses (Appetite Era)
Nirvana
AIC (with Layne)
RHCP (Blood Sugar era - before Fruciante left first time)
Pantera

Course, Isis have split up now, so it won’t be happening (not that it would have anyway). Seeing The Smashing Pumpkins in the mid-90s would’ve been great too - sadly I didn’t know anyone else who liked them back then, so I never bothered seeing them :-(

My list is 4 of my favourite bands at the moment, all of which I think would be very good live. But there are tons of other bands I’d like to see such as Stone Sour, The Eels and of course Therapy?, so my ultimate gig would actually consist of about 20 bands playing non-stop for a day and a half until I pass out.

Think I would go for one of these gigs with all the great trash / speed metal bands from the 80s , the time I loved most as I was a teenager getting into all this music malarky.

Exodus
Slayer
Testament
Nuclear Assault

If they reformed I would happily switch one of those for the likes of Dark Angel , Agents of Steel or Sacred Reich.

Yah, saw them on the purple tour. An acoustic set mid-gig with the whole band sitting on a sofa on stage… it’s RnR for fucks sake :-/

I haven’t seen any of these guys live and would absolutely love to:

The Mountain Goats
Xiu Xiu
The Black Heart Procession
Grouper

In terms of a fantasy line up (this is a lot harder):

Joy Division
Nirvana
Spacemen 3
Elliott Smith (actually saw him live but unfortunately wasn’t a big fan at the time!!)

@Epitome, I saw Isis live a couple of years ago, they were fantastic. Saw Eels many years ago and was very disappointed!
