Without wanting to damn my luck, it looks like i WILL be able to go… Be confirming in the next couple of days… If i go, i’ll be staying at the Euston travelodge…which is handy for the train and about a 30 min walk from the venue. Fingers crossed :)

Where will the pre-meet be held? Are there any decent pubs? Should we all wear T? tee’s to be easily identifiable?

See tickets are listing ‘Standing’ tickets, or ‘Unreserved’ tickets. Think I saw The Wildhearts there years ago and got stuck upstairs. I guess the ‘Unreserved’ ones would be the best to go for. They’re both the same price. Anyone got any clue?

So the second half will be a “greatest hits” type set (guessing Screamager, Knives, Die Laughing and Nowhere won’t get played a second time in the night!) - almost a shame - was half hoping the encore would be all the EP tracks and 1993/4 B-sides…! Invisible Sun, Breaking The Law, Tatty Seaside Town, Totally Random Man…

Lots sadly, this being London, but tube will be £8.60 for a peak travel card (zones 1-3 should take you where you wnat / need to go) or £6.30 off peak. As for food how much do you eat? it won’t cost that much though, probably a £10 will do. Overall i’d say £50 should do it for tube, food and some beers.

Looks like a few people are staying in the Farringdon travelodge. I’m staying in Euston which was a tenner dearer but it’s right beside Euston train station (which is where my train from Glasgow goes to) and it’s slightly closer to the venue walking distance wise. According to google maps its about 30 mins walk with Farringdon being about 40 mins. Just don’t fancy trying to suss out the tube system, being a London virgin. I think the most costly thing will be drinks tbh, but only planning to have a couple pre gig…famous last words and all that lol :)

Chris, I’m guessing that’s a Virgin train. Does it go through Preston Lancs? Do you change at Crewe / Birmingham New Street? If so, I could meet you on board!
Anyone buying train tickets, try using http://www.thetrainline.com, can get some tickets dirt cheap in advance!

Yeah, it’s a virgin train and it’ll be going thru Preston, but it goes direct - no change anywhere. There were some options for trains that change at crewe, but gonna just book 1 without changing. Can’t book it for another 2 weeks cos it says they only accept bookings up to 12 weeks in advance. Looking at the timetable, i think i’m gonna get it around half 8 in Glasgow which gets me into London just after 1. It’ll prob stop at Preston between half 10 and 11. Can’t check into the Travelodge till 3 so could get a later train, but was thinking of just having a wee look around London with the spare time. Try raileasy.com or networkrail.co.uk…Thats even cheaper than thetrainline. :)

Speaking as a Manc the tube is pretty straight forward and looking at where the Forum is, it is located very close to Kentish Town station.
Its on the Northern Line, as is Euston, which I assume would be your closest underground. Its a one zone stop - though that won’t mean its cheap, nor will it mean you can get it back after the gig. Plus walking aroudn London lost is always fun.

Cheers for that… I had a look at the tube map and it doesn’t look too bad at all… Think it was about 3 or 4 stops from Euston to Kentish Town sation. Loking at a map, it’s a straight road to, so probably pretty easy to walk as well.
