Seems to me that a lot of people are voting down tracks just because their scores are low, and they want to clear a space for a new song.

I just don’t like Perish the Thought that much.

oh yeah, would have been a good rule indeed. Though it happened a few times that a song got a score of just 5, and no-one touched it right away, so I don’t think there’s too many “killers” in here.

My point is… That some folks seem to be voting a song out, just so they can add a new one.

ie. Alan’s post where he put a song in the firing lines for both Fame and Shame.
The next poster was more than eager to both elevate and relegate simultaniously.
Why not leave the the Shame candidate to see if some others might try to save it.

Just because it’s on 5 points, doesn’t mean you have to kill it.
I mean! How many times did the Bear yo-yo about on points.
Nearly dead. Oh! Wait. Nearly saved. No! He’s actually dead.

In hindsight! Another good rule would be that you can’t elevate and relegate at the same time.

Not exactly, the songs in question were at 95 and 5 when I went at them. Fact is, I liked the ‘95’ song and didn’t like the ‘5’ song, so I voted accordingly, not because I just wanted to add new songs. I gave up that right to the next person.

In hindsight, I think the rules at the start should have said that if you vote for a song at 95 or 5, then the person after you gets the right to add a new song. That’ll stop people voting out songs just so they can add their own.

It’s a pretty good idea. As Dermot said, everything’s going to be on there at some point and I’ve already chosen a few so I’m not too bothered about doing any more.
