They were boring when I saw them after T? at Download in 2006, so I imagine they’re even worse now. To be honest, who wants to see guitar and keyboard solos from a bunch of unknowns? Even if Slash came back, I still wouldn’t want to listen to a guitar solo… just play some fucking songs, lads!!

I saw them at Download Dublin also and agree with your sentiment. Dunno, they don’t seem to have the same stage presence as the original band. My mate however did tell me that when they perform with their own rig / stage equipment that it is much better.

Anyways, not like I have anything better to do on a Wednesday night…

The damage has been irreparable for nearly 20 years.
As soon as Izzy jumped ship it went downhill pretty quickly.

I have all his solo albums, 117 degrees I thought was a solid rock n roll album and I liked the ju ju hounds album. The rest have their moments but are patchy, but still enjoyable.

The wildhearts supported the ju ju hounds and apparently got kicked off the tour for blowing them offstage every night which is one rumour i can believe.
I saw G n R at Download 2009 and ixzzy came on for a few songs but he kept getting them wrong! (not that i go to festivals and watch what the musicians are doing but it was bad comedy considering he wrote them !!!

Dispite Axl looking ridiculous and constantly going off for costume changes, and the guitarist doing his best to look like slash, Guns n’ Roses were the best band I’ve ever seen at Leeds last weekend. Absolutely brilliant, rock show 101. Big tick in my teenage to-do list. Think I nearly shit during November Rain, and Paradise City, shit on me!

Just don’t care if they’re essentially a covers band, it was awesome, and Axl’s voice is completely unique. Love it.

What a complete nightmare…

They started playing at 10.40pm at which stage the crowd was seriously pissed (they were greeted by booing) and didn’t even fucking apologise. They played 4 songs (Axl totally fucked up the timing and lyrics for “Welcome to the Jungle”) and a few plastic bottles were thrown on stage (none of them were even close to hitting him).

He then got in a huff and stormed off stage - a spokesperson from the venue came out 20 minutes later citing “technical difficulties”.

Myself and my mate waited 30 minutes, got pissed off and left the venue.

From what I heard, they came back on stage at 11.30 and played the rest of the set to a half empty irate venue.

Am seriously pissed off and don’t think I will ever be able to listen to another GNR song ever again.

I hope my mate gets a refund on the tickets (€70 each)…

Give me a break - a few bottles flew on stage, big deal. He could have easily avoided all the drama had he either bothered showing up on time or at least apologised. Even when they did play they were crap.

I am beginning to with that I had a bloody bottle to throw at the tosser!

The cunt was over 90mins late in starting.

If he’d at least apologised for the delay, then maybe they’d have given him a chance.
But instead he just expected the crowd to be OK with it.

There were people tweeting that he was outside by the tour buses after he walked off, walking in circles with his head in his hands and shouting abuse at the people leaving, calling them ‘fucking assholes’.
Most people had planned to leave around this time anyway, to catch the last bus or luas.
But Axl the nutjob didn’t give a shit about anyone there.

He’s a psychotic headcase. Simple as that.

Ha ha, I thought that comment wouldn’t go down too well. Face it though, he’s notorious for being late and unpredictable, if you bought a ticket to see him then you should have expected that kind of behaviour. He gave a warning that they would stop if it happened again and yet some bellend decided to lob another bottle on stage. Of course it’s not fair that everyone had to suffer for the actions of an idiotic minority, but at least eveyone knows now not to bother buying a ticket for GnR ever again. That said I do hope refunds are offered, I’m not sure how likely that is though?

What a load of BS, there way of ensuring that their are no refunds. I don’t think anyone expected Axl to be on stage on time (I certainly didn’t), but 10.40pm is bloody ridiculous.

The way they are talking about it, you would expect that people were chucking Molotov Cocktails at him non-stop - fucking 3 plastic bottles that were just thrown randomly on stage.

Irish crowds are usually warm and forgiving - didn’t think people would have the balls to tell Axl that enough is enough. Won’t waste another penny on the man.
