Great review of High Anxiety

#

Started by Paranoid Android

Just read a review of the album in my local paper, the Irish News. They have the album 8 out of 10!

The review concluded, “Overall High Anxiety has the kind of kick that Therapy? fans everywhere used to depend on. In short, they’re back - and it’s clobbering time…’

Fantastic! But I’m still waiting for the album to come through the post. Ordered it online before it was released and I’m still waiting for it.

Think I will enter the competition in the paper to win a signed copy of it instead!

if you leave out publicity, money and how many people know them, t? are superior to nirvana in every way.

why not. let’s just compare them 1 to 1:
better guitarist/singer: 1 definate point for T?, the singing is a matter of taste (i’dd say andy, just listen to t? acoustics and nirvana unplugged)
bass: another one for t?
drums: fyfe could kick daves ass everytime, graham and neil are good aswell, so: one point for t?
lyrics: 70% of curts lyrics sucked, but andys writting ain’t that better, so i call it a draw
songwriting: t?, no discusion on this one

this is the way i see it, anyone who doesn’t like it, byte me:p

I cannot allow anyone to speak negatively about mr. Grohl, he’s the man! He recorded a brilliant album singlehandedly, for cryin’ out loud! He’s a great drummer, great songwriter, he can handle the guitar quite well, and he’s not too bad as a singer. He rocks!

I wouldn’t class that as a negative - I think Fyfe could kick pretty much anyone’s butt when it comes to drumming. Dave can win at playing guitar against Fyfe :D

What happended to Fyfe? Does he still pay the rent by bashing drums, or has he got a proper job?

The last I heard (but this is going back a few years) he was playing in a band called Little Less Nothing. I bought the first single (good stuff) but haven’t seen anything since.

You’ve been looking at the scary Neil picture too? I hope so too, Fyfe always looked damn fine when clean shaven.

I always wondered what Graham (and now Neil) would think of people turning up in T-shirts with the original line up on (like the Troublegum tour one with the Nowhere cover and the IL tour one) - presumably it’s like turning up to someone’s wedding anniversary with a poicture of their previous spouse.

Maybe that’s why there’s been no band picture T’s since Fyfe left :)

Eek, I meant Graham!

I dunno, I think they have to appreciate that T? were a great band already before they came along. They must think that themselves or they wouldn’t have joined!

Didn’t register that you’d said Neil. Personally I wouldn’t have joined, partly because I can’t play drums, but mainly ‘cos I get really badly starstruck meeting people in bands I like - on having a chance to talk to Terrorvision, I just managed to point and say ‘ugh’ - terribly embarrassing.

Heh, the first time I met Michael (bar the post-gig signing) I burst into tears. It was hugely embarrassing but he was very nice about it and just gave me a hug :)

I do think it depends on how much you like the band and it’s sod’s law that the more you like them the worse you are at, I dunno, breathing. I’ve met bands like Feeder and Shed 7 before and been entirely unfazed cause I’m not really bothered what they think of me but if someone’s opinion actually matters I go to pieces :(

Hee hee, actually had some fun with Rick Witter as, years previously, I’d given him a plastic toy that said ‘meat’ on it (don’t ask) so when I saw him at a festival (I think it was V2000) I made a bet with a mate that he still had it…and he did! Mmm…victory beer…
