Your ultimate band?

Let’s say you could put together a band who would then record 1 album together, which artists would you pick?

‘My band’ would look like this:

Vocals - Warrel Dane
Lead Guitar - Jeff Waters
Rhythm Guitar - Aaron Aedy
Bass - The Evil Priest
Drums - Joe Nunez

Imagine the live performance with both Michael as Aaron Aedy on stage : ) I’d have put Franky DVSD of Channel Zero since he’s my favourite on there as vocalist but Warrel Dane is really one of the best singers and has a wider range of vocals he can do. Besides, for one album, his voice doesn’t get too typical (which it might, I think, if you listen to a lot of his stuff, even though he’s great).

I used to have one about a year ago, can’t remember it exactly. It had Mike Patton on vocals/electronics and Billy Corgan on guitar… maybe Matt Cameron or Neil Cooper on drums.

I would have either Billy Corgan (with is 1995 voice) or Kurt Cobain (with his when-he-wasn’t-dead-voice) on vocals. Or possibly Casey Chaos or Jello Biafra, if it was more of a punk band.

Probably have to go with either Gavin Harrison or Jimmy Chamberlain on drums. Not sure of the rest.

So many great musicians and so few spots in the band , almost impossible to pick. Depends what genre the band is going to play , I guess.

Would definitely have Rory Gallagher in there on guitar though.

Daniel Johns - vocals
Rob Zombie - backing vocals
John Otto (Limp Bizkit) drums…I know its LB but he is a fucking great drummer
Fieldy - bass
Mark Chapman from A on gtr
Bo Madsen (mew) other guitar
Roddy Bottum on keys/piano…and they would form a pop band and it would be the greatest most dark twisted genius pop music ever created! Like take that gone wrong : )

not that kind of guy (Richard) wrote:

i’d have to have jamesy dean bradders in there doing most of it. and bob smith or bowie singing. and roger waters on bass (even though i know he’s actually not a very good bassist). it’d be the most miserable band ever. and thom yorke doing his ian curtis dance.

as it is a band with drums i assume dave grohl would have already bagsied that position.

Yeah it indeed depends a bit on what kind of band you want, I basically just picked the people I think are most talented in the kind of music I like ‘cos I know more artists by name there. (though I picked Aaron Aedy because of his live performance - I could think of a better rhytm guitarist).

I also have to add: Kyoko Baertsoen for backing vocals. She’s from a Belgian trip hop band actually - Lunascape, likely the ‘easy music’ band I like best. Looking up her name I found out they’ve split, but they’ve given us 3 great albums. Their best song imo (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KdoQdaPc1Ik). Mind you their music is generally more positive than this song ;)

Going for a rock band, Billy Corgan is indeed a very good choice! I’d probably try to squeeze Greg Dulli in there somewhere too, he did some impressive stuff with Afghan Wigs.
