I’d love a definitive b-side collection - probably be way more than a double album though, maybe something like the Join The Dots boxset The Cure did a few years ago. It’d be great if it included recorded tracks that have never seen the light of day too. I can’t see this ever happening though, as too many different labels would be involved.

Unless they can arrange one per label… that might work.

The best stuff would be their A&M years, for obvious reasons. True, our fave band might not have the six figure sales but it’ll sell. T?’s got a strong fan base that’ll buy anything they missed out first time around, myself included.

might be hard as A & M own the rights to the ‘big’ albums singles for the next 50 years! Maybe we could all club together and help T? buy the rights back to their own songs. Im unemployed at the mo but id be willing to chuck the price of a singles album in to pay for it.

It would be a lot cheaper if they would re-record them… it’s not the same, but there wouldn’t be the problem with the rights and it could still be nice ;)

Yeah, I have most of T?’s b-side stuff, albeit a lot just downloaded. I’d love full quality versions on CD though, a few extra rare tracks thrown in and some nice notes in a booklet though! I can dream… :-)

Or maybe we’ll get them all with the inevitable super-deluxe reissues that they love coming out with now. For the 25th anniversary, perhaps.

I’d buy the hell of something like that.

I don’t really need to buy all the albums again, but I suppose I would do if it had a disc of b-sides with each one. I’d still rather just have all the rarities in one big boxset though ;-)

I think there are a few tracks from album recording sessions that haven’t been released, no idea how many though.. If there was to be a b-sides / rarities release then on VINYL as well as cd would be the way to go. I’ve got an awful lot of the singles both on cd and vinyl that I’ve picked up second hand over the years, usually for a few quid if that.

I know there are a few, but the ones I know about only amount to a handful from their entire career. But then again, there could be loads I have no idea about, but probably more likely to be rough demos than “finished” recordings, I would think. Anyway, I’d want any unreleased stuff, plus all other b-sides/out-takes, just to have them all physically and at full quality :-)

There’s a list here, some of the unreleased stuff has since become available (Casey Jones Reaction for example) but it’s still a good reference, and if I remember correctly I think we have Alan to thank for it.

I have most (if not all) the b-sides, but would absolutely love an official compilation of them. So yes, I agree there’s a market.

I wonder how feasible it is? It shouldn’t cost that much in the grand scheme of things, the songs are already recorded, just need to be compiled. Ah well, we can dream!

I’ve got a couple of singles but I also can’t be arsed to switch between them all the time. Also don’t really have the money to track down every single ever for the sake of some b-sides, nice as they may be.

A proper collection or even a “best of the rest” CD would do me nicely.

Great idea!
I actually maid a compilation of all of my T?-singles that I own, and it´s b-sides a couple of years back, and it covered 3 CD:s in total, with the latest two albums (OFCA, if you include the “Rain Hits…Editversion” and Crooked Timber) b-sides fitting on the 3rd disc I´ll assume.
To be honest, I already bought all of the CD-singles once, why buy the same thing twice?

Actually a lot more nice idea with Alan´s list of “unreleased songs” compiled on a 10 CD-Boxset with all unreleased “studio/sessions”/rare livetakes/demos” -songs…(but please no remixes, even though loved the last remixes alot)!
Put even all the small pieces of instrumentalsongs that never made it…onto the 10-CD-box ;-)

Well, one can hope and dream :-)

all the b sides were considered by the band to be of a high enough quality to get a general release ,so any outakes were obviously thought to be below par ,so i cant see the guys releasing them ,they have to much integrity for themselves ,and for us!!! ,so can we just have a b sides album ,PLEASE!!!!!!!
