chris cornell is hot. They were on radio 1 last night. I liked Soundgarden ‘though admittedly mostly for the Mr. Cornell reason of beauty.

Yeah, great album - I got it on Friday and have listening to it non-stop. I saw their TV debut on David Letterman’s show the other night and that was cool too.

I think it sounds a cross between RATM (obviously!) and Chris’ solo album “Euphoria Morning” - I can’t really see much of Soundgarden in there.

A lot of people on their message board seem to hate the single “Cochise”, but I think it’s cool. A lot of those people though are RATM fanatics who hate Chris Cornell. My favourite track is “What You Want”.

Chris’ voice sounds a little fucked but that’s probably from the cold weather (the thing is outside!), and the fact the band didn’t have a warm-up for, what is, a very tough vocal-driven song.

you know what pissed me off the most when i saw the ‘slave live last month?
almost everyone was shouting soundgarden-soundgarden…i wonder what that meant to those people (they expected chris to sing his old tunes?) and what the guys from ratm (ex ratm) thought of that..

although i like audioslave i wasn’t much impressed by the gig. not their fault but you could hardly hear chris singing. it felt as though he’d left his voice in the backstage :p

heard rumours they’ll be supporting pearl jam in new york this summer. tell me this is true, cos i’ve got tickets for those shows..:D

Have to say I am disappointed with the album… got it, and was not impressed. Saw Cochise many, many times on TV — and OK — watching the song with a video is MUCH more impressive, and almost makes me really like the song… but whenever I go back to just the album — well, it feels like a let down.

I love Soundgarden. I love RATM. But somehow it just doesn’t work.

I always told friends that if RATM had a different singer I’d like them. I was wrong. :( I’ve tried but just can’t get into them.

Yep, these and maybe “Cochise” (which is a “Whole Lotta Love” Rip-Off) are probably the only good songs on the album. I’m very sorry to say that but Chris is just wasting his time there recording this unispired shit. RATM where good for exactly one album and managed to constantly repeat themselves from then on. To mix Cornell with RATM was a bad idea in the first place. Besides, the band name sucks.
