Songs Therapy? could cover

#

Started by Thefanthattriedtostrangleitslf

IMO Therapy? have done some very solid covers, like Breaking The Law (love the drums they added), Diane and Isolation. However it seems to me they haven’t covered a song for a long time.

So which song(s) do you think would be cool for them to cover?

I think it would be cool to hear them do Alice Cooper’s Sanctuary (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fqWCT-TPOQ). It’s a song from his best (to me) period when he had that great line-up with people like Eric Singer (killer drummer) and Ryan Roxie.

Certain elements of the song but mostly how daringly mental it is and the lyrics remind me a bit of some things Therapy? have done on some songs / CD’s, too.

hmmm, good question!

I think T? should avoid rock covers and do a dubstep cover! dont ask me what cos i don’t even know what it is really, just think it would be cool to hear T? go back to their dance roots for a cover version : )

They should do some Elvis, something like Wooden Heart or one of the 70s ones like Suspicious Minds.

Don’t tell me that wouldn’t be a great laugh to hear live.

They rehearsed Thin Lizzy’s - Waiting For An Alibi for the tribute night but that never went ahead.
Would still love to hear that , it’s a great tune and I’m sure the lads would do it proud.

Gotta agree with Manfish, Elvis would be good. As for dubstep that term covers an awful lot but I really liked their cover of High Noon by DJ Shadow so electronic music covers do work. Personally some Country and Western, Lost Highway was great. A Nomeansno track or a S*MA*S*H track for purely selfish reasons.

Tough question, there are so many songs they would do great versions of.

Personally, I find Breaking The Law pretty awful - one of the few T? songs I can’t bring myself to listen to. I don’t like the original though either, so it’s not really their fault.

I’m sick today and can’t think clearly, so I’m going to suggest Bat Out of Hell by Meatloaf :-)

Breaking The Law was great but their Iron Man cover was flat.

As for another cover, Concrete Jungle by the Specials or Running Free by Iron Maiden wouldn’t go amiss.

They sent ozzy their part and he added his vocal. There’s some good covers that recorded separately but lot of em feels shallow. Breaking the Law is great live. Last song at the set; solid rock’n roll goodbye to fans.

When they broke out ‘Breaking the Law’ at Vicar St. it was immense, especially as me and my mate were having a ‘wouldn’t it be great if…’ conversation in the bar.

A bit of Helmet done a la Therapy? would be cool!

A David Bowie song could be good too… Let’s Dance, or even Town Called Malice by The Jam
