I was thinking about it, and i still listen to crooked timber an awful lot, and think that (whisper it) it may actually be therapy?’s best album. Is this just me? :)

Reaeally - 2 years ago? I’m pretty sure OCFA was a coaster by now - can’t remember the last time I dug it out in fact.

Timber is excellent - I’ll reserve judgement until we have another album or 2 - it’s certainly top 3 or 4 though isn’t it?

It’s the only album that pushes Babyteeth close but for me still not quite as good.

It’s very hard to believe that Babyteeth was their first album. It’s so very very good. Not a weak moment on it.

Two years have gone fast and these two years have been great for us T? fans: CT followed with quit heavy touring and promoting it. The live album and the Troublegum gigs. Now roll on with the new record and the gigs, just cannot wait!

CT is great, definitely one of their best… maybe 4th for me, behind Troublegum, Suicide Pact and Shameless, but it’s hard to judge, they’re all great :-)

Holy crap it’s been that long…? It’s probably 5th-7th for me because I do think most earlier albums were still better: Crooked Timber starts out with 5 absolute killer tracks and the songs after that aren’t bad but not of the same quality by far imo, except for Somnambulist. However its still their best album in many (9!) years and the unique sound gives it an appeal mere numbers can’t express, it also boded well for the future at the time because while Magic Mountain may not be a track you can listen to all the time stuff like that proved T? were becoming more original once again, I’m sure they’ll be able to keep it up : )

Yeah, the band’s been pretty bisy the past 2 years, which has been gret for us :-)

Still playing CT a lot - kinda feel that OCFA was a bit of a shadow of NANE Though, so hope the new one doesn’t turn out to be CT-lite …

Well, it’s always more interesting if they do something new but ‘Living In The Shadow Of A Terrible Thing’ does suggest they are continuing in that musical direction somewhat and just adding more elements, if it’s done in a good way (like LITSOATT) I don’t mind though :D

I regard CT as one of the best albums T? have made; as already noted, there’s not a duff track on there and they did tour quite a bit, which is something they hadn’t done for a while. Just hope they do the same for the new stuff.

Yeah, I know T? are known for changing styles quite often, but I don’t mind a couple of albums in a row with a similar sound - especially if it’s more gritty rock like CT :-)

Gay, CT prove that T? can record an album as good as thier first one.
PS: i’m in Inf. Lv. sect, so CT is great, but not the best.
Nothing could be better then IL.

Infernal Love is very possibly my fave album of all time also, by any band.

CT is still regularly played in the car (these days my car is my stereo). Doesn’t seem like two years as the ‘new album novelty’ hasn’t worn off. A good sign!!

wouldn’t mind a rather similar next record too … but anyway it’s going to turn out to sound, i’m sure the lads have put their hearts into it and it will be a good record!

Just listened to it yesterday, still sounds fresh as a daisy. I’ve been careful not to overplay it though, which may account for that. Definitely one of their most fully-formed masterpieces! The album has a uniquiness of sound and concept. I’ve just listened to the album with the Gold ‘sample versions’ for the first time, can’t decide which versions I like better. I love samples as part of the T? sound, but at the same time I like the empty spaciousness of CT without them. Any thoughts?

I’m still listening to it quite a lot and I still love it.
It’s one of my favorite T? albums, it’s a close call between Crooked Timber and Babyteeth.

When you play it these days, do you tend to play the original or the gold version (I’m playing the original 4 out of 5 times).

I’ve only heard the Gold one on Spotify, but I much prefer Magic Mountain without the samples. It’s a cool effect but they get in the way of the music.

Haven’t listened to Crooked Timber in ages! Must fix this later.

Gold edition, I don’t like the remixes, but I do like “Low Winter Sun” and “Don’t Try” a lot, and the samples of course.
Crooked Timber sounds better on the original album though.

Crooked Timber holds fond memories for me now. I got the album just before I got on a plane and moved from the UK to the US.
Its weird to think of how life was at that time. I can see it being a longer wait to get hold of a original copy of the next album here :(
Feel like I’ve screwed myself lol.
Still, CT still rocks and it still amazes me how powerful Mike’s bass sound dominates most of the songs - in a good way :D
