Come on guys, it’s this Monday, it’ll be raining, I’ll be cold, sweaty, wet, tired (after Childline Viking Boat Race tomorrow), and it’s all for charity :D

Help me & Dermot raise some cash for Barnardo’s and the Stroke Association!

Is it pathetic if I take my sponsor form with me and try to raise money along the route?

Well guys I did 20 miles before having to pull out due to cramp, exhaustion and very, very sore knees. Had them both bandaged up and still tried to run a little more!

Seen Dermot and he was trotting along at a good wee pace - fair play to him and I hope he did well.

Well done, and fair play for you - and CS too.

Here’s my favourite photo of me (apart from being in hospital!!)

Dermot is also on that site, but I’m sure he can post a link as I’m not so sure he’d want me to do it for him!

Haha… those are some quality griamces Col! ;-)

I thought it was a shame that the only photos of me are of when I was approaching the finishing line… most other people had photos of them at different points of the course. But here yiz go:

By the way, my iPod playlist (in order) round the course was:

1) Helmet - Meantime
2) Therapy? - Shameless
3) Tool - Aenima
4) Helmet - Meantime (again)
5) Therapy? - Shameless (again)

Is that you in the red Dermot? If so, yer a skinny bugger, or else you must have hit the wall at about a mile in and burnt pure fat the rest of the way!

That is indeed Dermot in the red..

My iPod played the following:

Iglu & Hartly - & Then Boom!
Rick Astley - Never gonna give you up.

After about 10 miles, Rick Astley was on repeat… that alone should’ve made me finish!

Yeah Derm, I’m quite gutted that there weren’t any photos of me when I was actually running well (ie. first 10 or so miles), but I’m really tempted to buy that photo of me in severe pain!

Unfortunately not Dermot, I now live in England, (allegedly!) studying for a degree!
On a running note, lost a lot of fitness, and my right knee doesn’t feel right when I walk, never mind run!

I’m poor until 4th May, when I will sponsor you. I’m rarely on WoM anymore so bookmarked your justgiving page!

Good luck mate
