Anyone see the thing about Neil Morrissey growing up in care the other night? Part 2 is on later. Some of it was difficult to watch but a great piece of programme making. Makes you (well me anyway) realise how lucky we are. Things might not have always been great, but it was nothing compared to some of the stories being told on there!!

Ooh cheers - I watched the first part and was hooked but I’ve been away. Hopefully i’m in time to et part 2 on catch up.

A little bit too stupid at times, I thought. A lot of the humour seemed aimed at teenagers. Having said that, I still thought it was quite good, easy to watch, as you say. Definitely a drop in quality from Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz though.

Just watched Scream. Going to watch the original trilogy over the next week and then go and see the new film at the cinema… even though I know there’s a good chance that it’ll just be a shit cash-in.

I did, and it was very exciting to watch indeed. That last pink ball was awesome. I was rooting for Higgins, so I was very pleased with the outcome.

Any good? As you might spot in the “What’s everybody reading?” thread, I’m halfway through his book.

Wanted to watch this but way too late for how tired I was last night. Will try to iPlayer it, if it’s there.

Next spot of watching will be some old Doctor Whos I got on DVD for my buffdee - Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee eras we’re talking here.

@Dennis - It was brilliant. Did you see his latest tour (Vegetable Stew)? The material is taken from that. He did the grandad/crisps routine for the first one :D Good interview about it all here (also includes the AWESOME news that GFS will put out Fist of Fun on DVD #FTW)

Yeah, it was very good. A bit on the slow side - I know that’s kind of his style, but it did seem a bit slower than normal, like he had about 20 minutes of material for a half hour show. Still, overall very funny. It was sad that they got rid of the opening credits with him in the clown car though - I’d happily watch half an hour just of that.

The Scheme.

Now that all the “stars” court cases are finished, the BBC have finally got round to running this again. Part 1 was on last night and part 2 tonight, with the so far unscreened parts 3 and 4 on next mon and tue. Well, in Scotland anyway. It’s on the iPlayer if it isn’t on down south. Well worth checking out for a laugh!!!

I’m not surprised there were court cases, they all spent most of part 1 incriminating themselves on camera! “I’ve just lied to the polis” etc. Funny as fuck I must say, especially the lad who thinks he’s a wideo but looks about 12 and only gets away with behaving like that because his dad is known on the estate.
Got to wonder how people who don’t work all manage to have a tailor made cigarette in their mouths ALL OF THE TIME, even when I did smoke and was working I could never have afforded to do that.

And when Marvin got robbed, how the fuck did he have a £700 Telly there to steal when he’s a benefit scrounging junkie bastard!!!

A lot of the people who live there weren’t happy about the place being portrayed as a shithole. They said that the producers only focused the programme on the scum bag minority of the place. Which is maybe a fair point, but I’m sure the scum element make for better viewing figures!!

Ah Marvin, the bit where he’s slurring out the “I’ve no been on drugs for 5 year” is classic, as is the voiceover of “Marvin dreams of starting a family” - yeah as well as dreaming of doing loads of jellies! The next minute they’re saying he was caught with 300+ diazipan on him.
Got to agree with you about putting on the people who’ll get good viewing figures, I lived on a council estate for years and most of the people just wanted to go to work and bring up their kids but there’s always a few idiots as well.
