I’m sure he’ll do a bang up job. Who needs founding members anyway? Metallica fired Mustaine after all! ;-)

The show was great, bands all in top form, etc. But damn, I must be getting too old for festivals as I’m exhausted today! :-)

How exhausted you are is just a measurement for how much fun you had =)

I missed it on XM! BOO!!! wanted to hear Anthrax and Megadeth. BOth of them sound the best they have in years. Slayer and Metallica are starting to show their mileage.

I thought they all sounded fantastic. Was never much on an Anthrax fan, but their set was great. Very energetic despite being the only ones to play in complete daylight. Slayer kinda stole the show, imo, though. Just brutal from beginning to end, despite Hanneman only being healthy enough (spider bite!) to play on South of Heaven.

These bands are obviously not rusty yet, they’re all still kicking ass! =) I must say though, while Thrash metal is probably my favourite kind of music, there’s other bands in the genre I like more. I’ve tried listening to Megadeth but couldn’t get into it… But I can see why other people like it.

Having watched the Big 4 DVD, it’s clear that the other three bands piss all over Metallica in terms of musicianship and tightness.
I have to say I hate Bellendonna-era Anthrax…letting Bush go was a very bad move in my book. I’d have settled for Dan Nelson, he sounds promising in the YouTube clips…but Joey..Nah, no thanks. I’m out.
