I’m from America and Therapy? is my favorite band of all time

I’m Chase, I have loved Therapy? since I was about twelve maybe? Definitely my favorite band. My uncle and his friends, who live in the northeastern part of North America, showed me this amazing band, and I am just astonished by their large body of innovative and original music. They are punk gods, and each album is different than the last. I guess that’s why they never got too big. Many people are narrow-minded when it comes to music so when therapy? changes they’re sound a bit, if somebody liked the last album, they might not be into the next. I for one absolutely love it! Way to keep things interesting, true and fresh! I think Therapy? embodies what a band should aspire to be like. True musicians, not just money makers. If the fame comes, so be it, but don’t let it hold you down.

Anyway, I showed my friends this band and they love them. It seems that a lot of people are unaware of them, but when people here them, they often like what they hear. I would travel pretty far with a bunch of my friends and my uncle and his friends to see Therapy? Play live in the United States. I just wish they were more popular here so we could have more shows! If anyone reads this, let’s try to convince Therapy? to play in New England!

Hi Chase, welcome on board. I thought I read this post a few days ago, am I becoming senile alread? :-s
We Europeans don’t know how lucky we are, everytime Therapy? plays a nearby city/country, I hope for you and every US based Therapy? fan they’ll do a huge tour over there again.

Welcome, Chase.

This is a duplicate post, so I’ve deleted t’other one. Sorry if you felt the response was slack, the battle to get Therapy? to America has raged on for many years now and I guess most people have had their say!

welcome boy to this power space tripping band. I would say the same about the message boards, but it’s a reasonable voice oasis in this shitty mess that is called world :)

Have a nice time in here.

Hello, Chase! I too am a yank living in Knoxville, Tennessee. lol. Therapy? fans are rare here in the US. In fact, I probably never would’ve found out about Therapy? if I weren’t a former Army Brat (discovered the brilliant album Troublegum while living in Germany). And greetings to the rest of you too!

Wow, I know this post is really old, but I lost my password ages ago and haven’t been on here in a long while. Thanks for all the response guys. @danafo81That is funny that you say that, because my uncle and his friend saw The band While they were in the army, and it was in Germany too!
It’s good to see some fellow US fans, and of course it’s just awesome to talk to you people in general.

Hasn’t Andy recently said in interviews that the band are playing America in April? This could be your chance - not sure if they mentioned where etc…

@KJC Dublin: they’re playing SxSW in Texas (Austin I think), not sure of specific dates but the music side of things runs 13th-18th March.

At exactly the same time as ASIWYFA are playing at a different venue, although they’re also playing the night before so if anybody is going to SxSW to see T? then ASIWYFA are recommended live as well.

I think this is a matter of marketing. T? is a brilliant band and given the right exposure to American audiences, I think would do well here. I’ve written all of my favorite radio stations, urging them to get LISOATT on the air. Haven’t heard it yet. (jackasses) I know a lot of T? fans aren’t particularly fond of Infernal Love, but I think IL was their best chance to break through in the US/Canada but were failed by poor marketing.
I’ll keep spreading the word here, and hope other American T? fans do too. I mean seriously - what’s not to love about this band?

You are right, I however think that the market is simply too large and overloaded with bands in the US. You would have to spend a pretty penny to get noticed and most labels don’t play that way anymore…

As we say here “true dat” KJC… There’s some talent here - quite a bit actually. But there is a lot of background noise too. I always thought/assumed that part of T?s appeal here should be that they are European. Maybe it’s just the era I grew up in, when the world was bigger, and bands from far away just seemed so much cooler. Now that the world is smaller, there really isn’t such a thing as a band from “far away” unless some Iranians start playing metal. That would be kind of cool.

You guys all bring up interesting things :)
How do you all feel about facebook? The only reason I ask is because I just recently created a group on there- “Bring Therapy? to the U.S.” As of now, it is a small group, but not that many people know about about it. If any of you are interested, the group’s email is therapyus@groups.facebook.com
I will create a post on the WOM as well.
Please check out the group, even if you are not a fan from the US!
and also let me know if you have any ideas.
