Listening to the track now Simon, elements of serious stoner rock in there and I’m hearing old QOTSA in the breakdown. Look forward to hearing it again once mixed. Keep me in the loop!
Yeah Qotsa, kyuss, Unida, fu Manchu all big influences on the band… When we started it we used the subject matters of driving, drinking, drugs and girls… But we have expanded that a bit now lol. Just fun to do Boyd lives about 11 hours north in Oz so it’s just a studio based band. We have the se set up so use programmed drums… Been good being productive with it, can see when my kid comes this project being my little escape as I can do it at home.
Once we have finished all the vocals extra guitars and mixing will put up the full album and Boyd is making a website. :)

evening all,
i’m surprised i never put any of this up yet.
an old school friend and his mate were in a band ( 2 piece) and asked if i would join about 3 years ago.
we jammed for a year then started to write some original bits.
we recorded every single jam session we played (albeit only using a mic hanging from the ceiling, so the quality is lacking)
a couple of years or so ago our practice space flooded and we have not played since.
we are now in the process of setting up new space which has lead us to re-visit old material we were working on.
so… here for you giggling pleasure are 5 tracks we were messing about with.
there are actually about another 30 or so, but if i am honest these were the only 5 that were at least 70% completed.
1) SENT BY THE DEVIL TO BILL YOU - https://files.me.com/paulpryor/m3e53f.mp3
2) THE LAUGHING STOCK OF THE SERVANTS - https://files.me.com/paulpryor/dcqtzl.mp3
3) TO BE A KING - https://files.me.com/paulpryor/61ez44.mp3
4) CHASING THE VAMPIRE - https://files.me.com/paulpryor/ybumk8.mp3
5) NEON - https://files.me.com/paulpryor/qxjv0l.mp3
Once the new rom set is set up we will have the ability to mic everything up and have it all wired into Logic running on a mac. this way we can EQ and do some kind of production work on some of the rough mixes of tracks we are working on.
Any feedback will be appreciated (again, bear in mind the tracks are far from finished, vocals are really mumblings due to lack of lyrics and the overall sound is lame)
Cheers!!!

Kinda sounds a bit like Kyuss with a 70’s space-rock thrown in

I agree with gav.. sound is shit but the songs and performance are great… loads of potential! If I didn’t live so far away I would come a record you properly.
In a weird way the bad recording and not being able to understand the words.. kind of adds to the charm :)

Great music again - reminiscent of Slo Burn. Much prefer the gruff vocals on the chorus as apposed to the cleaner voice on the verses. Maybe put an effect on the cleaner vocal to dirty it up?

Yeah I need to do something with the verses.. Not 100% happy with them. It’s pretty much my only vocal contribution, I prefer to just write the music.

Sounding good mate has potential :) Not a bad sound for a phone… better than some demos I have heard in the past.
The two projects I’m working on are almost finished… one band has it’s first gig in December, and are currently recording the first E.P just depends on the drummer and if he wants to keeping fucking up playing the songs haha.
Pirrama on the other hand is doing the final touches on our first album. What started as a 4 track e.p we have in the end come up with a 10 track album and have a few songs left over. Just deciding at the moment which songs to use and finishing up the vocals before mixing.
He is one track for a taster… hasn’t been mixed and still has a few things that need fixing, but at the moment looks like the opening track.
Mule Harvest
Really enjoying this!!!

Finally have some stuff for my other band sorted, manly as we find of had to as our bassist got drunk and booked us a gig.
Here is a track from one of our rehearsals.. just a few mics round the room. All a bit sloppy and the singer seems to be practicing his shit onstage banter all the time.
So this is the first song we ever wrote called Undead (Zombie Trilogy Part 1 which is silly as so far we have never written part 2 or 3.
We also quickly set up a Facebook which has nothing really on it.. we are now called Falling Down Stairs … shit name but what can you do :)
