A very excellent gig.
Always wanted to go to the Brixton Academy since I started my gig attending life and it certainly is a very nice place - very much like my favourite venue (Manchester Apollo) only bigger and with bigger toilets.
I had my chewing gum taken off me at the door - an odd thing I thought, till I saw the state of the floor. Still I got a chuckle out of the NO CROWD-SURFING signs.
I didn’t stay for Skindred as I’d had a skinful before hand, I merely went and bought a medium purple t-shirt (sorry MisterHoppy)
Haha, I’m going to order one online at some point anyway, got a wardrobe full of band t-shirts anyways :-)
I’m not that big a fan of Brixton Academy myself, never been that happy with the sound - it’s either not loud enough or too distorted if it is loud enough, plus for quieter bands it always seems to be full of dickheads wanting to shout at their mate about how many drugs they’ve taken / are going to take etc and then they get pissed off when you ask them to shut up or f*&k off. Think Highbury Garage is one of my favourite London venues, fair size but not too big, good sound and easy to get to from Kings X.
I’ve taken to bringing a bottle top for a water bottle with me as they remove the top when you buy a bottle, I get why but I’m not about to lob the thing at someone and I don’t want to have to drink the whole bottle in one go.

I came, I saw, I pogo’d & now I’m hurting!
Was a good set by both T? & Skindred, Therapy? set could have been a lot lot longer, hopefully they will tour alone/ as the main act after the summer.
The mosh was as crazy as usual, I was front centre & it was one of the most physical pits i’ve been involved in for a while but as usual at T? gigs as soon as someone went down everybody jumped it to help them up. For those there I was the dude with long hair & spiky waistcoat.
Between T? & Skindred sets I jumped on the railing to try & spot a mate & got back down with style after pulling a Crucifix pose & suicide dive backwards., I blame it on the 4x jd & sambucca bomb in a pint glass just as T? come on.
If I drove I’d be heading to Brixton tonight to do it all again!

The boys were on great form, get your dead hand off my shoulder was awsome. Skindred i thought were shit, the sound was shit, i couldnt understand a work the lead singer sung and wouldnt bother agin.
And yes there were some assholes at the front digging people and elbowing but to be fair, you dont go in the mosh and expect to feel unbruised in the morning…if you dont like it rough, fuck off away from the front…zimples innit!!!!

So much for not playing so much Troublesome anymore. I know it was a support slot but maybe just Screamager and Nowhere would’ve sufficed? With so many other albums to pick from 4 or 5 tracks from that album is too many I think. What about Suicide Pact, Never Apologise etc.

At Leeds we only got 2 Troublegum songs, which I kinda preferred (we got Rust and Stories instead of Isolation and Die Laughing)
That said, when they played Screamager and Nowhere the place went fucking apeshit - so its kinda understandable why they throw them in.
