Amsterdam gig

#

Started by Shredder

Have been to the Amsterdam gig at the Melkweg last night. Thought it was brilliant. Pretty intense and all. Nice mix of old and new songs.

I am curious to find out what others thought of the concert.

The gig in Amsterdam was great. It started out well for me and my friend because we meet Andy in a pub.

The gig itself was great. A nice mix of new and old songs. The atmosphere was alspo cool. A lot of crowdsurfing and stagediving which makes it a real rock night.

The interaction with between T? and the audience was also good!! Nice of micheal to dive i the crowd himself!!

Can’t wait to see them play again.

The Melkweg definitely rocked yesterday! Great gig, nice & sweaty upfront. The new songs are very very good, specially “Rust” with the heavy bass!

I missed “Teethgrinder” and one of my all time live-favourites “He’s not that kind of girl”. But they played “Stories” :-D !!!!!!
The only critism I have is “Diane”, this version was a bit boring…(but maybe that’s just me)

Speaking about Teethgrinder, where did u end up after we left you there…?

Amsterdam was pretty wild yesterday, all the blue spots on my body prove that … so thank you to all those big fat bastards behind me for trashing me and my rockchick

But shit happens I guess…

It was nice to touch Mr McKeegans private parts, although he really did not like that… but he said he likes Belgian asses during the Studio Brussels gig so I thought it was OK, but hell was he pissed off…

So if you read this Michael: I’m sooooooooooooooo sorry, I will never do it again :D

Yeah well… euh… kind of funny actually… we were standing in front of him and the setlist was just in front of us too… first he smashed that one completely, then he stood on our arms/fingers so to make him aware of the fact we were standing there, we took his really little Willy (well there was not much to feel in fact) in our hands and squeezed it like a little rubber duck (like the one from Bert & Ernie)…

Then he fucking saw us :D But he REALLY did not like it… but that’s rock ‘n’ roll I guess hehe…:D

So Michael, if it’s hurting when you go to the toilet today, I really feel guilty… but he learned a very important lesson yesterday: don’t FUCK with the nice people from Belgium/Germany who travelled all the way from Paris to see the show…

But damn’ we had fun!!!

Really good energy, the band seemed to love the feedback from the crowd. The interaction was great!
Too bad they didn’t do any obscure songs like Disgracelands or Straight Life. Now that I’ve seen them play the new songs live, they have much more impact on me then before.
Unbelievable band!
Cheers!

I guessed I wouldn’t be the only one to enjoy the concert! It did rock!

By the way, did I get it right that Andy somewhere halfway the concert said that Therapy? will be back in Amsterdam/Holland in september or october for another Dutch gig? Would be pleasant! Can’t see enough gigs like yesterday’s.

Excellent gig! :D

Although I already loved the new songs, they were even better live, my favourite definitely being Rust! They played for about an hour and fifteen minutes including the break, which was a nice length, I think. I had collected enough bruises by then, and were completely out of breath :-)

I also heard Andy saying that they won’t be returning this year, but that they will return in September/October. I think we both misheard it or that Andy was confused as I’m pretty sure they will be returning this year instead of next year.

I met the guys before and after the gig, and had good fun talking to them. I met Neil after the gig and besides being an excellent drummer, he’s a very nice guy to boot! We ended up in the Zebra Lounge for about an hour, after we had to leave the venue, until 2.00 AM when they had to leave for Brussels.

Cheers to everyone I met from the boards, it was good fun talking to you!

The Irish pub close to the melkweg is the place where you can meet Andy! I meet him a couple of years ago! But he was there again last night!… But he was gone before I could get my cd sign! :(…always late..

But it really kicked ass last night!
Hope to see them again in September!

Cheers!,

I had a good time as well, I met Andy outside the Melkweg and he told me he was off to the pub to watch…Celtic-Porto…and I was thinking” What did they put in your drink” because that was obly today, and then that thing about not coming backl this year followed by saying they re coming back in September/October, well, I guess he has got a diffrent calendar…One thing not so nice: I have got a little concussion thanks to the crowdsurfer who decide that I would be his wave to surf on, well…you;re lucky I was late because else you would have had a very high tuned voice by now!…and then some Belgian dude tried to break my nose…BASTARD!;)

If some of you guys went to the pub with the guys why didn’t any of you ask them when and where this supposed Sept/Oct gig is going to be (yes I also heard him say: We WILL be back in september/october). I wouldn’t want to miss this gig for al the money in the world!!

Am I the only one thinking this was the best gig I’ve seen until now or was I just to stoned the first 2 times to notice there always great ?? (not that the first gigs were bad but this one really ROCKED !!)

hi michael…yeah we missed you there.

well, looking at all my blue spots and from everything which is hurting me, i think amsterdam was more wild then zottegem…but that’s just my impression…

well, for me it wasn’t the best gig so far…well, the athmosphere was great and all that stuff, but i was so stucked, i couldn’t move…and thank you, for all those fuckers who tried to use my back as a stair to get on the stage  …it’s not a really a nice feeling to get a feet kicked at the back and it’s still hurting…guys there are better ways to get on stage!

but for all the rest it was a good show!
neil is great behind is drums and always smiling like “honigkuchenpferd” so i think he enjoyed it too
i still had my fun with another girl next to me to open andy’s shoes :-) …yeah, once he was closing it again on the stage, the other time he waited till he was out for that little break :-)
and it was very cool, when andy came down to me with his face with a very crazy smile!

Definately see you guys in september/oktober!!!

There was this journalist in “Oor” once who said that going to a Therapy? concert always gives you a high that’ll last for a week. That is so true, every time!

It’s actually so cute to see Andy totally wired with adrenaline that he’s just a big “blij-hoofd” in stead of Mr Coolness ;)

Apart from the two teeny-boppers behind me, a had a fantastic time, as always!!
